How long has it been since I blogged? Literal years, not that anyone’s been waiting in anticipation for me to start doing it again. Everybody’s moved on to podcasts and most people are using WordPress for business sites rather than blogging anyway. Even I’ve mostly moved on to Twitter over the past few years, where everyone else is wittier and I can just retweet the thoughts that best reflect my own.
But over the past few years as the world has slowly started burning down, Twitter has become a million anxious voices whispering in my ear and while most of them are right, it’s not really doing my mental health any favors. I needed a place where I can just let my thoughts stew without anyone else butting in and that’s why I’m back here. Blogging. Like it’s the early 2000s and I’m back on Livejournal.
I used to have Ron Reads before this, but after the past few years and a bout of freelancing — meaning no steady income — I had to stop paying for the upkeep of the site and forgot to download the backup. So I’m starting from scratch and calling it Ron Does Stuff instead so I’m not just focused on books since I haven’t been able to read for the past few years, anyway. Maybe a movie review? Television show recap? Watch this space!
