Ron Watches The Howling Episode 3

Oh my god we’re back on track! I am actually getting to watch the new episode on the day it airs and get a post out within a few hours of it airing! My life actually having some structure why I never would have thought it would happen!

Let’s get into episode three, but if you haven’t watched the second episode yet watch it in the video embedded above!

In the previous episode, we saw Team EJ successfully recover from the scathing assessments they received before their actual performance and actually get complimented by the panel. In episode three, it’s now Team Nicholas that steps up to perform.

Before the start of their performance, we get shown how Team Nicholas gets demolished during the interim check. The choreographer doesn’t even let them finish their performance! In fact, she even corrects them and makes them do a move again and again. Brutal.

It doesn’t stop there, because they also show the vocal interim check and the vocal teacher isn’t any more encouraging. And they even bring in the guys’ vocal teachers and they get a softer demolishing but they still get demolished.

Before the start of the performance, there’s a brief interlude where the guys enjoy an eel dinner? lunch? and they get to look back at their interim check. They say they’ll do better once they’re up on the stage, because really what else can you say? I’ll suck during the actual performance?

And when they do perform it’s pretty good! And Pdogg my man even points out the thing I didn’t like about the performance is that they didn’t lift up their shirts! That was a key point!

Choreographer Sakura, though, is still as exacting as ever, which from numerous dance students I’ve encountered on Twitter seems to be their default setting. Which really can you blame them? We also get to see why Gaku was shown crying in the teaser shown in the previous episode, and thankfully it’s just because he didn’t get any feedback and he thought that was because he sucked. But the panel actually said that he didn’t get any personal feedback because he didn’t make any mistakes!

Up next is Team K, which has to perform as a trio today because Junwon is unable to perform. This is a shame since choreographer Sakura thinks he’s the bee’s knees. But compared to Team Nicholas, they get relatively better comments when it comes to their performance.

The absence of Junwon really throws them off, since it happened just two days before the performance and they had to move things around in a hurry. And to be honest one of his parts went to Minhyung, who didn’t really get any compliments during the interim check.

And really I should have seen the pattern already because all the groups that got scathing reviews during the interim check ended up with a redemption arc so obviously the only group that got mostly positive reviews during the interim check was going to get the crash and burn story because Team K gets demolished.

Finally, it’s Team Taki’s turn. After the reaming Team K got they are understandably nervous about performing so let’s see how this ends up since their team ended up the best-reviewed during the interim check. Will they live up to the expectations set by the interim check or will they get the Team K storyline?

And they live up to expectations, for the most part! A sigh of relief that we don’t get to see these teens beaten even further down since things are already stressful enough as it is. And they look like they got more &Balls this time around!

The good mood extends further as their mission is announced by…Seventeen! They’re going to be split into teams of three and are going to perform Seventeen songs. The first team made up of Fuma, Junwon, Minhyung, Nicholas, and Yejun will be performing “CALL CALL CALL”

The second team made up of EJ, Gaku Harua, Jo and Maki will be performing “HOME;RUN”.

Finally, the third ream made up of Hayate, Hikaru, K, Taki, and Yuma will be performing “Oh my!”

The twist is that they’ll be creating their own choreography for each song, which will of course be stressful. AND THEN the preview for the next episode shows all of the boys crying and going through some open forum sharing of feelings shit and my gosh stop making these kids cry! Although given the bait and switch with the previous episode this may not be as serious as it’s being made to appear!
