Ron Watches The Howling Episode 4

Before we dive into the new episode, you may be needing to catch up with the previous one, so go ahead and watch it in the YouTube video above!

When we last left the boys, they were given the task to create their own choreography to three Seventeen songs — “CALL CALL CALL,” “HOME;RUN,” and “Oh My!” That in itself is stressful enough, but the teaser for this episode had scenes of the boys bawling their eyes out. Let’s see if that’s an accurate tease!

The boys all split up into their teams to discuss what they’re going to do with their songs. Team Nicholas, which is doing “CALL CALL CALL,” decides on making Fuma the group’s leader as he seems to have a plan for the group. The first order of business is coming up with a team name, which honestly I have never understood with Japanese and Korean media since I really don’t think it’s that important? But anyway, they decide on C Riders, which is fitting since “CALL CALL CALL” does heavily feature motorcycles in the music video.

Team EJ, which is taking on “HOME;RUN,” decide to build their performance around the theme of field trips to reflect their average age, and Gaku ends up being the team’s leader as he has experience choreographing dances. They also decide on the team name Full Count because of its connection to baseball, which features in the song since it is literally titled “HOME;RUN.”

Team K, which is doing “Oh My!” decides to go with something cute for their song, and install Hayate as the leader. There’s even a mention of RM’s advice of a leader being someone who supports from behind as well leading from the front, and I swear that quote is going to be passed down for several years.

We get shown the boys creating and practicing their choreography and all of them seem to be really taking to it well! All of them really seem like they’re going to perform well, but then again this is a reality show so we might end up seeing pain and boys crying instead.

BUT! Before the final stage, the boys are given an ~entertainment mission~ by Seventeen, who describe themselves as entertainment idols and honestly, they kinda are! Going Seventeen even has its own fanbase who stan the boys just for the show, so no argument here.

The entertainment mission is the &Marble mission, where they basically have a board where they get to do a number of Korean and Japanese variety show staples. It’s kinda like the second episode of TXT & EN- PLAYGROUND!

The boys get stuff from one of the sponsors if they win, but even better, they also get &Balls for showing how well their entertainment sense is. This is how they’re going to fill up that &Ring before the show ends because no way are they not going to debut at least the debut team.

We actually get a really entertaining sequence of the boys doing the variety show staples and I end up laughing a lot but all this is making me even more worried about the crying in the teaser. WHAT ARE YOU BUILDING UP TO.

After the games, the guys have a barbecue party and aside from making me feel hungry, I feel like it’s building up to the crying parts because this is exactly how all those open forums back when I was in high school and college started. And yes I am ancient.

And this is kinda weird of me to say but at least the crying parts are just them being overwhelmed with feelings of happiness? Hikaru, for instance, is a little overwhelmed by finally being part of a team after dancing on his own for so long.

There’s also some open forum shit between Maki and Harua that I totally hated when I was going through it as a student but I am totally eating up as an adult. All of it is ~entertaining~ when you’re not part of it!

We finally get to the part where they’re supposed to get their &Balls but they don’t get any balls! They get letters from their families! This is acceptable crying to me at least it’s not because of too much stress on their part!

The preview shows them crying again though. I don’t know whether I should be worried or not because it could all be a ~ruse~ again!
