Hello everyone I am back on my bullshit!
The past couple of weeks have been really busy work-wise, so I have not been able to watch The Howling nor Alchemy of Souls. But this weekend being a long weekend I now have time to do something that isn’t work-related and required for my survival so here I am again!
With this being the final test for the boys, the previous episode left on a cliffhanger, with the boys about to perform after receiving an encouraging message from BTS and meeting up with Tomorrow x Together. With all of that out of the way, the episode is now free to focus on just the boy’s performances.
First up is Team B singing “Lights”! Of course, before we get to their actual performance, there is another peek into the interim check conducted and honestly…it wasn’t the best! But then again, when a team gets feedback like this they usually end up crushing the actual performance so let’s hope that’s what’s in store for them.
The boys finally perform and you know what? It’s not bad! It’s not outdoing the doer anytime soon but it is a nice go at the song! Applause for them! The producers, generally, also seem to think the same, saying that they seem to finally be in harmony as a group.
Now it’s Team A performing “Film Out”. Just like Team B, they get told that what they have during the interim check is just not up to par, which means that they’ll get generally good remarks during the actual performance. They actually didn’t sound that bad to me during the interim check, but then again I am not a singer so don’t take my word for it.
And just like Team B, they won’t be outdoing the doer anytime soon, but this isn’t a bad performance at all! Considering they’re all trainees and BTS sang this well into their careers, it is pretty okay! Pdogg even had really nice words for them and he’s the producer of the song so it must have been a good performance!
Now off we go to the performance-based…uhm…performances! First up is Team A with “Run”, and the new choreography is great for a dance break! The boys may not perform it as smoothly or as powerfully as I’m used to with groups BUT they’re trainees! I think you really need to see it in that context because with that in mind this is pretty good!
Pdogg does pick up on the fact that some of the guys didn’t have as much energy as the others, and producer Sakura is even harsher than him. Which, understandable, since she choreographed the thing.
Up next is Team B with “Black Swan” and boy I am worried for these kids because it’s “Black Swan“. It’s nothing to scoff at but if they pull this off it could end up looking really great!
And as if that wasn’t enough, we get a little bit of the new choreo made for the song and they’re tumbling??? All over the place? I am worried. Not so much for Hikaru since he has ballet experience but for the rest of them? Oh boy.
When the boys finally perform I am actually floored. This is really good for a competition show! (Caveat: I haven’t watched every audition show but this stood out for me compared to others.) Pdogg was particularly impressed, saying that there wasn’t much to point out. The choreographer, Sakura, praised them as well.
But the evaluations don’t stop there because the producers look at every single one of their focus cameras and give every single one of them pointed critiques for their performance-based performances. And while there were some nitpicks from the producers, they generally all get pretty nice reviews!
They finally get their &Balls for this round and honestly they have this ridiculous &Board thing where they deposit their &Balls and it goes round and round like the centrifugal? centripetal? force thing at the old Science Centrum and boy have I revealed my age. But it’s ridiculous and hilarious to watch I am amused?
And of course, they’ve filled up the &Ring because they’ve already teased the attached Naver webtoon that ties with the group. But it’s still fun to see their faces when they realize they’ve done it!
But then they get another reality check as it is revealed that not every one of them is going to debut, unlike what I had initially thought. While K, Nicholas, EJ, and Taki are assured of a debut, only five of the 11 trainees will move on along with them. There’s a voting component that’s going to count for 10 percent of the votes! Check out how to do that in the video below!
So excited to see who gets to debut!
