We had a pretty big revelation in the previous episode — Do Ha now knows that Sol Hee can tell if he’s lying or not. Of course, Sol Hee doesn’t know that Do Ha may have possibly murdered his ex-girlfriend, but surely, surely he didn’t murder her because we are in the year 2023, this is a romance, and nobody wants a murderer for a romantic lead unless there’s a very, very, very good reason.
Let’s watch episode 7!
It looks like her power isn’t the only thing that Sol Hee is revealing, because as she admits to having the power that she has, she also admits that she likes Do Ha because he has never lied to her — and she would know. Well, except for that one time when he said he didn’t kill his ex-girlfriend and the lie detector said that was a lie.
The two go back to their apartments — separately — and Do Ha is looking back on their first meeting in 2018 and that time the shop owners association thought he was a pervert and is now seeing things in a new light. Sol Hee, on the other hand, is regretting telling him about her powers and saying that it’s not going to work between them anyway precisely because of those powers.
The next day, as Sol Hee is cleaning up the mess her mother made, we get a flashback that I suppose tries to humanize Sol Hee’s mother a bit but I am already so against her it’s not going to work. Besides, it’s quickly set aside because Do Ha has come to Sol Hee’s tarot card cafe to help her clean up and if a man that looks like this:

— offered to clean up my house? I would fold so quickly.
And then Sol Hee finds herself falling even harder for Do Ha when he tells her that he really doesn’t care if she can hear lies. So what? he says, but just those two words has Sol Hee falling. It would work on me if somebody said that to me!
As Do Ha is helping clean up the mess, he ends up being accosted by Sol Hee’s bodyguard who thinks he’s a robber. Of course it’s a misunderstanding, and it’s another misunderstanding that helps Do Ha conceal his identity because Chi Hoon — my god I think this is the first time I’ve heard the bodyguard’s name? — thinks Do Ha’s a fellow Syaon fan and nicknames Do Ha…Do Ha. I know.
And now we’re back to Sol Hee’s mom and like I said in the previous post, I just can’t stand this subplot. I cannot. Thankfully it is just a small snippet and we can get back to Do Ha and Sol Hee, who are once again left alone after Chi Hoon leaves. Do Ha learns that Chi Hoon also drives for Sol Hee, and he volunteers himself to be her driver and why would you rob Chi Hoon of a livelihood, Do Ha? You’re already rich!
They head to the bakery next to Sol Hee’s cafe and there’s a small scene where a customer asks for a refund from the baker because his bread apparently had bugs in it. I’m guessing this is going to come into play later because Sol Hee said that no one inside the bakery was lying, so if the customer wasn’t lying about the bug and the baker wasn’t lying about his bread…what’s the truth?
That’s something we’ll have to get back to because now the scene shifts to Kang Min, who is having lunch at a fancy place with his colleague. The colleague has managed to sus out that he likes someone from the tarot cafe and is encouraging him to go and date her, but he tells him that she has a boyfriend. And in walks Do Ha and Sol Hee. The drama. Do Ha and Sol Hee even sit at the table right beside Kang Min’s and I am living.
They try to ignore each other at first, but Sol Hee notices that Kang Min is wounded — a stab wound from the gambling establishment they raided in the previous episode. And Do Ha isn’t an idiot either because he does notice this and hears when Kang Min declares that he’s not giving up on Sol Hee because she isn’t married yet anyway.
Thanks to an unfortunate series of events, Sol Hee and Kang Min are left alone with each other. Sol Hee admits to Kang Min that she and Do Ha aren’t really dating just yet, and that she asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend, and Kang Min — understandably! — asks if he really bothered her that much. Kang Min gets up to leave and as he heads out he and Do Ha have a sexy stare down.
But there’s a bigger problem looming for Do Ha other than a romantic rival. Eom Ho – -Eom Ji’s brother whose name I swear hasn’t been mentioned until now — is in Seoul and Deuk Chan is worried about it. Eom Ho, after all, tried to kill Do Ha by stabbing but instead just gave him a sexy scar.

Deuk Chan’s asshole brother says Do Ha owes them for the rest of his life for what they did for him, but Deuk Chan is very insistent that they never talke about that again. That just tells me that Deuk Chan — or someone related to him! — is the one that really killed Eom Ji. That is if Eom Ji was even killed anyway. Just like me, Deuk Chan has had enough of his brother and told him that it’s time he close his business and stop blackmailing Do Ha.
But I can stop thinking about that for a bit as we get back to Sol Hee, who is being asked by Chi Hoon about Do Ha and whether he’ll be coming back soon. Do Ha, as it turns out, is at the bakery with the bugs and I guess is helping them out by buying the cream buns that he liked from the last time. A very suspicious guy enters and starts acting all hoity-toity and Do Ha is offended on the baker’s behalf and buys everything. Where is this subplot going?
That’s something that we’ll have to get back to later because the focus is back on Sol Hee again, who is still having trouble accepting that Do Ha accepted her powers just like that. Because she’s preoccupied, she ends up spilling beer all over her blanket and has to take it to the laundry and that’s where we get the seemingly impossible accident that ends with the female lead in the arms of the male lead.

So the two of them end up talking at what seems to be a 24/7 laundromat — god I wish we had one of those here — and Sol Hee is still surprised that Do Ha doesn’t seem to mind her powers at all. Do Ha tells her that he trusts her and she tells him that she’s only ever heard him lie once but as she’s about to tell him that it was about possibly killing his ex-girlfriend, the poor baker arrives and faints in front of the laundromat. The two of them help him out and Sol Hee decides to take the extra step and find out who started the bug rumor about the bakery in the first place.
However, that’s going to be the least of her worries because Eom Ho has now gotten hold of the Dispatch reporter, and with both their vested interests combined, they may be able to figure out where Do Ha is. This is definitely something Kang Min should be on the lookout for, but I think he may be battling something else because he just received a text saying that the time for his follow-up test has come and he should fast before going to the hospital.
Do Ha and Sol Hee are still unaware of this coming threat since they’re still working on helping out the baker. As it turns out, the very suspicious guy from earlier is in the cafe for a tarot card reading and Do Ha immediately recognizes him. Thanks to a little detective work, they figure out that the whole bug incident was orchestrated by the local realtor who had been eyeing the bakery’s space for a long time.
The baker treats them to beer and at the little get-together there seems to be a Kim Do Ha fan amongst them. A male Kim Do Ha fan. He knows a lot about the music he makes and is giving strong stan vibes that of course makes Do Ha feel good about himself. When Do Ha is asked about his name — because we’re already seven episodes in and no one ever asks anybody’s name — he tells them that his name is Do Ha and they don’t believe him. Which is believable! After all, he’s kept his face behind a mask all this time and has lived as a recluse. Without any news about him coming out, people will probably think that Do Ha is still in hiding like always.
We get a montage of the guys having fun and since I am a worrier, I worry. What is going to come to ruin this atmosphere? Is Eom Ho going to stumble on this happy scene and literally kill Do Ha?
But of course, why have an outside force ruin the night when you can have them be destroyed by internal forces instead? As Do Ha and Sol Hee are walking back home and having a sweet time together, Do Ha asks her about the one time she heard him lie and Sol Hee tells him it was when he said he didn’t kill anybody, which of course destroys Do Ha. Are we going to get another flashback? No, we’re going to get Do Ha’s mother.
Do Ha’s mother is having lunch with party officials and she is also getting destroyed. Do Ha is considered a political liability, and she is being passed over for the gubernatorial nomination for someone younger than her. She can be an adviser to the younger politician, says the party head, who is an old man. Destroy the patriarchy but also maybe Do Ha’s mom isn’t a good mom!
Speaking of women who maybe are not the best people, Syaon is trying to stake out Do Ha and rather than running into him, manages to almost get herself caught as people recognize her. Thankfully, Chi Hoon steps in and distracts the people, claiming that his “girlfriend” is way prettier than Syaon. Girl, love someone who loves you back! Chi Hoon is there!
Anyways, because of the people that have begun to crowd her car, Chi Hoon is forced to take Syaon to the tarot card cafe, where tension arises between Syaon and Sol Hee. Syaon does the 2023 equivalent of the scary mother offering money to the female lead to leave their son alone but of course, Sol Hee is unmoved. Syaon panics and tells her that Do Ha killed someone before and honey that is not going to get you Do Ha’s disco stick now your puss is going to remain unexplored territory!
Do Ha, on the other hand, has been summoned by his mother, who pleads with him to actually go to Germany now like she has been telling everyone he’s actually doing. Just like Sol Hee, he is unmoved and accuses his mother of doing everything she did only for political gain and not out of love. Just be honest! he says, and isn’t that refreshing!
Do Ha heads to the tarot cafe to speak with Sol Hee after the day they’ve both had and Sol Hee tells him that someone told her that he killed someone. He tells her that he didn’t…and the lie detector said that was a lie.
Cliffhanger!
