Ron Watches RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Versus The World Season 2 Episode 7

I had a busy week last week again which is why this is going up during this holiday weekend. I need to earn money so I can eat and pay for streaming subscriptions guys!

Let’s take a look at this episode now!

As everyone else already knows at this point because this is going up so late, Marina Summers won last week’s episode, sending home Choriza, one of the country’s original colonizers. I’M JOKING.

Back in the Werk Room, Marina explains that she came here to give colonizers the chop and Choriza was the final slab of meat to get a taste of the Katipunera bolo. Of course, the other white people are not feeling great about it, with La Grande Dame saying that Marina has three badges, the same number of legs she has and does La Grande Dame have her nudes out there somewhere?

But the real drama of this Werk Room gathering is Scarlet Envy. Or at least the drama involves her because after all, she is the drama.

Hannah picked Scarlet to go home and in the confessionals Hannah thinks she ranks above Scarlet while Scarlet thinks that Hannah just feels threatened by her. This would be a better fight if the two of them said these things to each other’s faces.

This episode’s mini challenge is quick drag for a bachelorette party and the only thing that immediately comes to mind is Trixie and Katya’s physical reaction to bridesmaids going to a drag club. Also that Katya story where she got slapped in the face with like $800 in singles.

Anyway, Hannah wins the mini challenge and gets the advantage of planning the order of queens performing for this weel’s Maxi Challenge, which is roasting Michelle Visage and Graham Norton. Since none of the queens have ever taken part in a roast before, I don’t know if Hannah’s performance order is shady or not but the queens seem okay with it!

While you can’t quite trust footage of the queens from the rehearsal, it looks like Hannah, Marina, and Tia are going to be doing well in this challenge. But, again, this could just be to lull the viewers into a false sense of security.

On the day of the challenge, the queens talk about reaching the seminfinals of the specific Drag Race franchises they’ve been in, since it’s a new experience for Scarlet and Tia as well. The real insights come from Hannah and Marina. Even with her great placement in Drag Race Philippines, Marina said that this new competition is a chance for rebirth and that the queens shouldn’t be haunted by their past performances. Hannah, on the other hand, shared how getting to the finals of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under actually wasn’t a happy experience for her as she felt the audience didn’t understand who she is. It was heartbreaking to hear her story of fans walking past her during meet and greets that they paid for. That’s rough.

The roast starts and my god that Michelle Visage corset/pussy joke I GUFFAWED. La Grande Dame following up next though, Jesus that was awkward and uncomfortable. Although I guess I got to thank her for that because Marina’s roast looked better in comparison! But truly, the real star of this roast is Tia Kofi. I actually laughed at all the jokes! Or maybe my humor is just at a dad joke level.

On the runway, you all have to admit that it was La Grande Dame and Marina’s runway. Those two gowns looked gorgeous.

This week they did the whole “if you’re not in the top, you’re in the bottom” thing, sending Marina to the bottom for the first time in the competition. And you guys don’t know the ANXIETY I felt when Scarlet started talking about Pangina being eliminated by Blue.

I did feel proud that both Hannah and Tia seemed to think that eliminating Marina would mean that the path to the crown is practically theirs. This little Filipino queen really had them shook! Even Marina acknowledged that she would send herself home.

But of course, as everybody else but me knows, it’s Scarlet Envy that Hannah sends home.
