The finale is within reach but we just have to get through one more episode. And boy it looks to be an exciting one because it’s a Lip Sync LaLaPaRuZa smackdown for the crown of She Done Already Done Had Herses!
Let’s get into it!
The queens are back in the Werk Room and apparently they don’t know why? Only Plane Jane, Nymphia, and Sapphira know that they’re going to be competing against each other.
The short reunion they have in the Werk Room really showed which queens might be doing well this episode. Plasma, Xunami, and Amanda get a lot of screen time, although it may just be because of her previous conflict with Plane Jane that Amanda gets the screen time.
Ru finally enters and tells them that there’s going to be a Lip Sync LaLaPaRuZa smackdown and that not only will the Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses be declared, they’ll also be going home with $50,000! I’d say not bad but I don’t know if that’s enough to recoup the queen’s expenses. And that $50,000 isn’t tax-free!
Geneva is immediately talking about how confident she is about her lip syncs which immediately tells me that she’s going to be an early out. Again. NEVER TELL THE PRODUCTION YOU’RE GOOD AT SOMETHING.
Meanwhile, Mirage is being underestimated by the rest of the girls which in turn tells me that she is going to SMASH this LaLaPaRuZa. After all, she’s the one whose song got viral post-elimination! The production might want to recognize that!
There’s also a revenge storyline between Mhi’ya and Morphine which is going to be exciting if it actually plays out in this episode. Let’s wait and see because while Mhi’ya has a score to settle with Morphine, there are a lot of queens who want to settle a score with Mhi’ya.
The LaLaPaRuZa starts and the first battle is between Dawn — whose ball gets picked from the hopper — and Amanda Tori Meating, who Dawn picks. And that MTV power really is working because that’s a lot of songs to choose from! In the end, Amanda picks “Damaged” by Danity Kane, which apparently Dawn knew she would do. The lip sync starts and…well…it’s not Anetra versus Sasha Colby that’s for sure.
Amanda wins the first round and goes to the next round! Dawn gets to go the Werk Room and sit on a pretty couch. As someone who wants to do as little work as possible, maybe it is better if you lose the lip sync.
Q gets picked next and she chooses Megami as her opponent. Normally I would think they would give Q the win but the way everybody immediately said Megami was a weak lip syncer I immediately sided with her. Megami picks “What About” by Janet Jackson and good gawd you wyt girls better perform the fuck out of this song it’s Janet Jackson. Okay maybe not so wyt with Megami but still! And thankfully, it’s just Q giving the wyt girl moves on this one. Megami moves on to the next round!
Next up is Morphine and she picks…Geneva Karr? I thought it was going to be a Miami showdown? Morphine is being strategic and I feel like this is going to backfire on her pretty bad. They perform to “Million Dollar Baby” by Ava Max and maybe I should let the professionals talks because Morphine decimates Geneva. It was a total Karr crash.
The next queen competing is Mirage, who is going up against Hershii. Its the Early Outs! They’re going to be battling it out to “Alone” by Kim Petras and Nicki Minaj and this lip sync battle was something I genuinely could not figure out who won! It was two very different approaches to the song which I thought were bought entertaining, although the editing did favor Mirage quite a bit. And she wins!
The last battle for the first round is Mhi’ya versus Plasma versus Xunami lip syncing to “Milkshake” by Kelis. I love that song.
And the lip sync was…messy. It’s a risk you take when you have three girls on stage! But Mhi’ya goes straight to the semi-finals!
Amanda gets to pick her opponent for the next round and she chooses Megami. All the queens still underestimate Megami even after she defeated Q, although I also have to admit that it may not take a lot to beat Q in a dancing lip sync. Amanda and Megami are performing to Cher’s “The Shoop Shoop Song” and in my opinion Megami should automatically win this lip sync because she acted out a blow job on stage. Art. Megami wins and advances!
Mirage and Morphine finally get up on stage to battle it out to “This Time You Know It’s For Real” by Donna Summer which I don’t immediately recognize because I am an uncultured heathen. I honestly thought this was a close lip sync but Morphine, Trixie Mattel’s daughter, moves to the next round!
I thought it would be a triple lip sync between Megami, Morphine, and Mhi’ya, but one queen has to choose an opponent while the third queen automatically advances to the finals. Megami get to pick an opponent and she chooses…Mhi’ya. Just like the other queens pointed out, she should have just chosen Morphine because she just sent Mirage home and she’s tired!
Mhi’ya and Megami battle it out to “We Got the Beat” by The Go-Go’s and FACE CRACK OF THE CENTURY IT’S MEGAMI VERSUS MORPHINE IN THE FINALS. I think it’s because Megami went the comedy round and actually had callbacks to the era the song was made. Anways, Mhi’ya is punished by production for declaring early on in the show that they should have just given the cheque to her.
The Morphine and Megami lip sync is a battle of different approaches and Ru makes it clear that she still prefers tradition as she picks Morphine over Megami’s more comedic approach. Trixie Mattel’s daughter Morphine Love Dion is the Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses!
