Ron Watches The Boyfriend Episode 9

Oh my goodness it’s the final two episodes! I wish I could watch and blog about both episodes tonight but I am an ancient eldritch being who needs a lot more sleep to function daily. So I’ll just have to watch the next episode tomorrow!

We saw Shun and Dai getting it on in the previous episode and as frustrated as I have been with their whole hot and cold relationship I kinda gotta admit that it was really kilig? I’m sorry I’m a sucker for hot guys making out!

ANYWAY. This new episode starts with Shun and Dai returning home from their overnight date and telling everyone they had fun and boy they definitely did if you guys watch the video at the top of this post. Alam and Kazuto also arrive back from their date and Ryota cannot be still hung up on Kazuto. Come on man.

But we forget about that as Shun is all proud and smiley about him and Dai fucking. My god getting dicked down has really improved Shun’s disposition and you know what? I don’t blame him! The guys think they didn’t have sex but you don’t smile that big if you didn’t get some good dick.

While Shun and Dai are basking in that post-coitus afterglow, Taeheon and Gensei talk about Gensei and Ryota’s date. Gensei, my perceptive little baby boy, noticed that Ryota may potentially still be hung up on Kazuto and my ghod he decides it would be “counterproductive” to tell Ryota his feelings now. Which yeah makes sense but I do not have the patience for that.

Meanwhile, since people are blind to Taeheon’s charms — I kid, I know there might possibly be Japan/Korea tensions lumped in there as well — what he’s been more worried about is coming out to his parents. Totally understandable, especially considering South Korea’s attitudes towards homosexuality. But honestly how could you stay mad for long at a guy this cute?

The next day, Shun is sulking again and COME ON what is it now? But that’s something we’ll have to deal with later on in the show as Gensei is in charge of the coffee truck today and he’ll be working with Ryota. BOY IF YOU DON’T SUCK HIS DICK IN THAT COFFEE TRUCK,

Before they go on their shift Gensei fixes Ryota up and aside from making him look good it’s also very intimate? I kept thinking that if someone I was into did that to me i would be kilig to the bones.

In the coffee truck Ryota is being very complimentary to Gensei and I would take that as the go signal to fondle his balls Gensei make your move! But the immediate bonerkiller is their ¥1,700 total for the day. Come on guys!

Back at the Green Room Shun is saying that he can’t enjoy himself with Dai around and I know they kinda get each other or at least starting to get each other but as an outsider it is so frustrating to me! Which doesn’t necessarily mean that Shun is a bad person it’s just that maybe I’m not getting the full picture from what’s being aired. I at least feel better that the panel is as frustrated as I am!

AND THE SKULKING IS BECAUSE DAI WOULDN’T WEAR SHUN’S SHIRT WHICH IS FRUSTRATING BUT ALSO SO FUCKING CUTE? Like I am getting why you’re finding this attractive Dai! Took me a little longer than you did but I get it!

Ikuo talks with Dai outside and tells him that he feels bad that his feelings always get tossed about by Shun and oh boy I hope he’s got his social media locked down and his comments restricted because I’ve seen some of the ShunDai stans and they’re a little…intense. And Ikuo is looking a little like the villain in this situation.

The whole house is playing relationship therapist to Dai and Shun and I gotta say whatever hang ups I may have over their coupling it’s so nice to see that the Green Room boys have bonded well enough with each other to help out with relationship problems.

Ikuo takes the initiative to ask Shun what it is exactly that’s bothering him and Shun tries to dissuade him from digging any further because it probably will look like a small thing to Ikuo but it’s a big deal to Shun. Which, props to Shun’s self-awareness at least. Ikuo manages to convince Shun to talk about whatever it is with the whole group present but Dai has already told the other guys in the house that he finds it hard to share his emotions so I don’t know if this is the way to do it Ikuo! But at least the guys are telling Dai that there’s probably no malice involved, Ikuo just sincerely wants to help. And I believe it!

That said, Dai doesn’t look happy about it and…I also can’t blame him! It’s just a sucky situation all around and I hope things get fixed at the end of the episode or something! Or let’s go back to the days of MALICIOUS GAY FAGGOTRY because I think this has been the most intense the show has been and it’s stressing me out!

I feel bad for Ikuo because just like the guys, I truly believe he didn’t mean any malice! But alas, the road to hell is paved with good intentions and Ikuo is learning that lesson today, I guess.

Dai talks with Alan outside and Alan and Taeheon should set up a counseling business or something because they give good advice! Alan even hypes up Dai and tells him to have a one-on-one with Shun. And he even gives Ikuo a hug and Ikuo ends up crying and now I’m crying.

And the whole thing was about the t-shirt because Shun’s ex used to wear his t-shirts and I totally understand when Dai says it’s fine to compare me to your ex but if it’s that easy for you to forgot what they have it hurts a lot. And all thanks to Dai because he really is doing all he can to make this work! I do not have the same patience!

We get back to Gensei and Ryota and apparently that earlier sales was just at the start of the shift or something! That said, ¥5,150 is still not the highest they’ve ever made with the coffee truck. Again, this is your old person worrying about finances taking over.

AND THEN GENSEI TELLS RYOTA THAT HE’S LEAVING THE GREEN ROOM AND WHAT? COME ON. He says that he’s done his part supporting Ryota and also expressing his honest feelings for him, even if the feelings weren’t necessarily reciprocated. God damn they didn’t even get to make out or something this is breaking my heart. Can’t we go back to the MALICIOUS GAY FAGGOTRY I hate this.

God I hope Ryota at least gets to realize that Gensei was there for him all along and they get together sometime in the future or something because we get another crying Gensei when he announces it to the rest of the group. FUCK I HATE THIS.

I’m still reeling from Gensei’s departure and so are the boys but we get yet another bombshell when Ikuo is assigned the coffee truck shift and he chooses Dai to work with. I honestly don’t think he has feelings for Dai but that he just wants to smooth things over with the whole situation with Shun.

And I’m half-right? Ikuo wants to apologize but also WANTS TO TELL DAI THAT HE ALSO LIKES HIM. I guess the MALICIOUS GAY FAGGOTRY is back!

Ikuo, babe, I really hope that you got your social media on lock because this is just making yourself a target for online abuse. You are the villain.

That said, Ikuo does make a compelling case. He’s less of a rollercoaster than Shun and he’ll love Dai and like he said he’d put Dai’s feelings first. Although honestly I’d prefer if it was more of an equivalent exchange.

You’re so quick this time! Anyways 1700 total is atrocious, their relationship is clearly ill fated.
