The end is in sight! There’s just two more episodes until we finally see Atom and Kongthap’s happy ever after. Because this is a happy ending, right? Right?
At the end of the last episode, the show tried to imply that Kongthap’s mom isn’t cool with the homosexuality. Of course, we don’t immediately deal with that at the start of the episode. Instead, the Straights and Atom agree to go on an open house at Sriracha University.
Did somebody say Sriracha?
Kongthap finally arrives and now we finally confront the issue that the previous episodes have been hinting at. Kongthap probably won’t be attending the same university as Atom. Will their blossoming love survive physical separation?
NOW. I know this is just the start of the episode and they probably resolve this later on, but I just hate when people hold back their significant others? It just reeks of insecurity to me. BUT ANYWAY BACK TO THE SHOW.
Kongthap is mad, but he doesn’t know why he’s mad. He tries to talk it over with his straight basketball teammate, but of course straight men are useless. Back at home, Kongthap’s mom is trying to let him know that she knows he’s a homo but she’s cool with it! Call her if he needs condoms!
Atom’s mom seems like she’s cool with it too, so the two Homosexuals™ head off to Bangkok and Atom promises he’ll “take care” of Kongthap wink wink nudge nudge.

There’s some product placement there with the two of them drinking each other’s milk…drink.
Over at the open house, Mudmee is listening to Half’s heartbeat and I’m like…enough. Okay, maybe I’m being unfair, they really do look cute together but I’m here for the Homosexuals™!
And the Homosexuals™ are back, riding the BTS Skytrain or at least I think it’s the BTS Skytrain. The Homosexuals™ are homosexualing and touching hands on the train and it’s all very cute and maybe they should kiss.
At the Bangkok open house, Atom is very much the supportive boyfriend and I knew I could trust him! He even signs up Kongthap for a workshop that will let him see an actual animal clinic. Unfortunately, the workshop’s fully booked and Kongthap won’t be able to take part in. But at least he and Atom can go home together!
Over at the heterosexual side, a white man tries to take Mudmee’s bag and Half tries to be a hero and is about to punch this white man until Mudmee tells him that this white man is actually her dad. Why he gotta be white?!? I dunno, I feel like this heterosexual storyline should have ended once they got together.
Over in Bangkok, Kongthap has dragged Atom over to the university’s Food Business college or something. Because if you’re going to spend college away from your parents, might as well spend it with your boyfriend, right? Atom takes part in a cooking class and feeds Kongthap his meat and Kongthap says it’s good!
Atom and Kongthap finally talk about their future, and while Atom is fine with Kongthap studying in Bangkok if that’s what he wants, Kongthap says he’s really not sure yet because he felt like something would be missing if Atom isn’t with him. Atom feels the same, but has a positive spin on it: they’re missing each other because they’re special to each other.
Over at the heterosexuals, it’s an entirely different world and I don’t know if this is how it happened int he manga but it definitely isn’t what happened in the Japanese adaptation. Neither of Mudmee’s parents are Thai, since her mom is Japanese, and I don’t know what the intent was here but the whole scene just feels weird.
Back in Bangkok, the Homosexuals™ finally get to their accommodations and Atom is worrying about the place being possibly haunted. I can already see what’s going to happen. Despite Kongthap requesting two single beds, Atom’s going to be frightened at one point during the night and they’re going to sleep together in just one bed. It’s a well-worn trope. If it works, it works!
HONESTLY I DON’T KNOW WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH THE STRAIGHTS HERE AND I DON’T THINK IT’S NEEDED? THIS STORYLINE IS UTTERLY SUPERFLUOUS.
Okay, so Atom doesn’t quite get into Kongthap’s bed because the ~scary~ shenanigans happen while they’re both still awake and Atom finds himself clinging onto Kongthap like a koala on a eucalyptus tree or something. It’s actually Kongthap who ends up moving to Atom’s bed, and it’s because Atom just point blank asked him to do it.
Once in the same bed together, the two finally discuss the elephant in the room — are they going to have a long distance relationship and will it work? Atom, ever the optimist, thinks that it’s going to work as long as it’s with Kongthap. Later on in the night Kongthap almost kisses a sleeping Atom, but moves to the other bed instead.
The next day, there’s an unexpected development as the workshop Atom wanted Kongthap to attend suddenly has a free slot, and Atom pushes Kongthap to attend. But homosexuality cannot be denied and the two of them finally come clean to each other about what they’re feeling, with Atom resolving to do better in his studies so they can both study in Bangkok together. It’s using your romantic partner as inspiration, just like your Filipino parents would advise you to do!
