A new episode! One thing that I find difficult with these European seasons is the time difference. I have no idea when they’ll show up on Wow Presents Plus!
Nobody went home in the previous episode, but we did see Kyran Thrax win the first lip sync of the season and of course she’s happy about it. She’s got immunity as well so she can just laze around next week!
The queens are still kinda nice to each other…except for Chanel who is already reading the other queens in her confessionals. Baby, it’s week two, calm down!
The next day, Ru tells them to group themselves into four groups of three and I don’t know if this is for a mini challenge or a Maxi Challenge. The groups end up being Kiki, Charra, and La Voix for group one, Zahirah, Actavia, and Kyran make up group two, group three is made up of Dita, Saki, and Rileasea, while the final group is Lill, Chanel, and Marmalade.
As it turns out, the groups are for the Maxi Challenge, which is a sewing challenge where they need to make a collection made up of a lady boss look, a cocktail party look, and a red carpet look.
Immediately, Zahirah feels like she’s done for as she’s grouped with two non-sewers. Chanel, on the other hand, says she can make three dresses in a matter of hours, which just tells me that she’s going to be one of the queens in the bottom.
As the queens start digging into their materials, Kiki is a little worried about producing a cohesive collection because she does correctly point out that there’s a huge difference between the drag that she does and the drag that Charra and La Voix does. Meanwhile, Kyran isn’t exactly endearing herself to her own group because it’s starting to look like she’ll just phone it in since she’s got immunity anyway.
Back to Chanel’s group, all three of them are strong sewers and are feeling very confident about it which probably has production rubbing their hands in glee because they like nothing more than humbling the contestants. And their group is also sniping at the other teams which I feel like is confirmation that they’re going to crash and burn during the actual challenge.
During the walkthrough, it’s Chanel’s group that gets the most praise from Ru, which really doesn’t mean they’ll do good because it just really sets them up for a really big fall later on. At this point, it’s better to get non-comments from Ru rather than her building you up.
The cattiness of team Chanel continues even as they’re making their clothes, with La Voix’s team getting most of the heat. I do have to say that I found Stella McShartney funny! They should take a page from Zahirah who is just a literal ball of sunshine I love her so much.
And then we get some heartbreak the next day because Saki got into an accident in the bathroom and now her knees all fucked up and she has to go. Fuckkkkkk. That has got to suck because you didn’t even fail at the challenge but you have to leave. I hope production lets her go back in a future season!
As the queens prepare for the runway, there’s a really nice conversation between La Voix and Charra and Kiki about the way drag has changed throughout the years. I really liked how La Voix talked about how society viewed drag made her look at what she does as “lesser”, even if she personally didn’t feel that way.
We get to the runway and Zahaira’s team is up first and while I don’t think the outfits are top level, the collection as a whole does have a cohesive look. And considering the only have one sewer? It’s pretty good!
La Voix’s team is up next and…well they make team Zahaira’s outfits look better. But it is great that they also have a clear connection between each outfit. They’re followed by team Dita which I think has the best outfits so far! Not only cohesive, but I think they look good!
Then we get Chanel’s team and…well I guess they did have reason to be bitchy because this collection is the best of the bunch and are all very cohesive. I guess Chanel’s not going to be in the bottom this week!
Kyran Thrax, Charra Tea, Dita Garbo, and Rileasa Slaves are named the safe queens. Chanel’s team looks like they’re going to be safe and one of them’s the winner while it looks like it’s going to be Kiki and Actavia lip syncing. Thankful that Zahaira’s basic dress is enough for a safe placement!
Back in the Werk Room, Chanel really isn’t doing herself any favors even among her team because on the Main Stage, she basically made it look like Lill didn’t do anything during the challenge. And she admits in the confessionals that she wanted to say that because the only reason other people looked good is because she did the dress. Chanel is definitely the villain of the season.
As expected, Actavia and Kiki are the bottom queens BUT since Saki had to go home, they don’t have to lip sync! It’s going to be another lip sync for the win between Lill, Chanel, and Marmalade! And wouldn’t you know it Lill won the badge!
