Almost at the end! I feel like I may have to watch season 2 when it comes out!
We had that pretty awesome fight between Mihawk and Zoro in the previous episode, and now the rest of the crew are scrambling to help him out. But of course, none of them are doctors and Luffy has to go back into the Baratie to find someone who can sew Zoro up. And that person is Zeff, the Baratie’s chef who tells them that it’s still a touch and go situation for Zoro so they have to keep talking to him to at least let him know there are still people waiting for him in the world of the living.
Over at Garp’s ship, Mihawk is a diva who tells Garp that he let Luffy go because he wants to see how everything turns out. When Garp tells him that he’s only alive because of the immunity given by the World Government, Mihawk tells him, no no, immunity or not he’s still going to do whatever the fuck he wants. When is Mihawk going to be on Drag Race already? Mihawk also knows that Luffy is Garp’s grandson and Koby being the snoop that he is hears everything.
Again, I’m writing this without having eaten yet and maybe I should because all Sanji’s food talk is making me hungry when maybe I should be getting emotional over Luffy taking care of Zoro’s sword and being sure that Zoro is going to push through.
For the first time in Drag Race herstory the show, Luffy isn’t as confident about what to do, which gives the show a nice segue into Sanji talking about Zeff’s time as a pirate as well as sharing his own backstory. And apparently a long held hatred for oregano! What his problem with oregano? I mean, not my favorite either but I don’t think it’s for savages!
Both Zeff and Sanji are stuck on a rock after both their ships are capsized by a storm, and both try their best to survive on what food they have. AND THEN 50 DAYS PASS FUCK THAT’S SOME CHILDHOOD TRAUMA? No wonder Sanji is all about not wasting food! And not letting a pirate go hungry!
AND THEN 70 DAYS PASS. AND THEN 85 DAYS. AND THEN CHILD SANJI FINALLY BREAKS AND HEADS ON OVER TO ZEFF’S SIDE OF THE ROCK AND DISCOVERS THAT ZEFF HAS BEEN EATING HIS OWN LEG JUST SO SANJI CAN EAT HALFWAY DECENT FOOD. SANJI NEEDS THERAPY.
Back in the present, Nami and Luffy have an argument over what should have happened with the Zoro and Mihawk duel and I can kinda understand where both of them are coming from. Nami thinks Luffy should have stopped Zoro from fighting Mihawk, but Luffy is so confident in Zoro’s abilities that he didn’t think Zoro would lose. You kinda want both of these friends on your side in real life!
Meanwhile, it doesn’t look like Koby is going to be lawful good after all. He has a talk with Garp and tells him would it really be so bad if Luffy is a pirate, especially since Luffy is a different kind of pirate.
Garp isn’t someone Luffy has to worry about at the moment, though, since Arlong arrives at the Baratie looking for him. And Luffy being Luffy, he gets on the Baratie to face him. It’s also where we find out how Arlong’s found them — Buggy’s ear has been in Luffy’s straw hat all along. Damn.
Luffy and his crew don’t stand a chance against Arlong and the fishmen, and it also doesn’t help that NAMI IS PART OF ARLONG’S CREW. SHIT. But I honestly think that Nami isn’t fully loyal to Arlong’s crew either because she told Zoro’s unconscious body that the only reason she doesn’t have friends is because the people she’s close to always end up getting hurt and who’s getting hurt right now? Luffy’s crew.

We also got to see a sorta sweet moment between Sanji and Zeff. Zeff knows Sanji is holding himself back by staying at the Baratie and that he should go out there and find the All Blue. And Luffy has a moment with Zoro too where he tells him he needs him and of course that’s what brings Zoro back to life. Finding out a man needs me would definitely add a few years to my life.
The guys decide to go look for Nami, but they need to find out where she is first. And Luffy has the right man fir the job: Buggy.
