Quite frankly, it’s been a bit tiring trying to catch up with everything I’ve missed during the past week. And I know this isn’t even physically taxing labor but I am an ancient crone and my back hurts. But we have to push through!
Dita Dubois was sent home in the previous episode and Mariana’s taking it pretty emotionally. Angelita La Perversa is still fuming over the perceived slight from Mariana in the previous episode and this will either be a season-long thing or this is going to be resolved in this episode in one way or another.
The fuming certainly isn’t stopping the day after because Angelita is saying she’s forgiving but she isn’t forgetting and Miss Khristo doesn’t think Mariana’s group is going to bury the hatchet either. Is this going to be Drag Race España‘s very own Heathers versus Boogers?
The queens are asked to do athletic quick drag for the mini challenge which turns out to be an exercise session led by Leticia Sabater. I have no idea who she is but I want to be her when I’m her age. Pulling medals out of your vagina? Iconic.
The three girls who got medal — Mariana Stars, Megui, and Angelita — are now team captains and wouldn’t you know it they all had tension with each other. I see you, producers! I see you and I salute you. It’s basically the girl group challenge and once again I am contractually obliged to put the Pop Off Ate performance from Drag Race Philippines.
As the queens themselves point out, the divvying up of the song styles proceeds very calmly. Megui gets the 80s version, Angelita gets the rock one, and Mariana gets the pop version. And the drama addict in me is seal0-clapping at the girls being shady with each other in the confessionals.
I gotta say, Angelita and Miss Khristo are getting the villain edit in this episode because in the previous episodes it’s been Mariana who’s been portrayed as the more aggressive of the queens.
I only know very, very basic Spanish — 1st grade level if at all — so I am going to take Megui’s word that Vampirashian’s lyrics are pretty obscene. Wowpresentsplus doesn’t translate it! But beyond the obscenity, I didn’t really think Mariana’s group did well during the rehearsals. But then again they could just be pulling a fast one on the audience and then have Mariana’s group end up being the winner.
Worryingly for Chloe, she doesn’t get any airtime when it’s time for her group to record, with Megui getting the most attention because of her surprising voice. She sounds good?!?!?!?! Just like the queens, I didn’t expect that voice to come out of Megui’s body. A singer and a dancer?
During the choreography part of the rehearsals, Megui’s group looks like they’re having the most fun, while Angelita’s group really is trying to make Chloe feel unwelcome. I get what they’re saying that they have more of an idea about rock as opposed to Chloe, but maybe try to think about Chloe’s suggestions as well rather than just casting them aside immediately. Truly feel like Miss Khristo is going to get another bottom placement because of this .
The next day, Chloe really is setting up the Miss Khristo/Angelita downfall storyline as she relays how she ended up doing all the work in her group and that she’s fed up. I feel like they’re going to be asked about delegation and Chloe is going to go scorched earth and fully pin all the blame on Angelita and Miss Khristo. And it would be believable to audiences, at least from the edit being shown.
Since the groups are all based on cliques from high school, the topic around the makeup tables turn to bullying, with almost all of the queens saying they were bullied growing up. Megui is the only exception, as she reveals that she was the one who bullied people. It’s something that she regrets, and Vampirashian points out that we have let people make mistakes and learn from them.
Kelly Passa!? also shared a story of her and her group of friends being booed during a performance in front of the school and can I just way that if that happened to me I would never recover? Especially as it appears that Kelly and her friends were booed not because of their skill level but merely because the students didn’t like that the school homo danced with so many girls.
It really does seem like the queer story time as Vampirashian also shares how nobody came to her birthday that one time. It’s why she’s so quiet and by herself most of the time. The queens hope that with this challenge, they’re going to end up healing their old school wounds.
The performances start and this is where I wish I was multilingual because it seems like Mariana’s group had funny lyrics but since no translation is provided I’m just…watching from outside the club, essentially.
Angelita’s group was…okay. I think they really should have listened to Chloe and choreographed and practiced something because the reaason why rockers don’t do group choreography is because they have instruments they need to play. None of you three had that.
Finally, Megui’s group performs and they were good! I do think that it’s going to be Mariana’s group taking the win on this challenge since the judges had the most laughs with that one.
We then go to the runway with the theme Night of 1,000 Ana Lockings and I saw clips of Ana’s reaction to this online! She really is so genuinely sweet and I want nothing but the best for Ana Locking.
My favorites of the runway looks were La Niña’s, Kelly’s, and Chloe Vittu’s. I actually didn’t get Kelly’s look at first, but once they showed what she deconstructed I thought it was a really great reinterpretation! Also, the OVAH hand from Chloe’s pussy? HILARIOUS.
Also, full disclosure — looking for this tweet ended with me getting spoiled on who gets eliminated on this episode and the next episode. So I guess what I’m curious about now is how the two persons get eliminated.
Mariana’s group wins this challenge and gets a hotel stay with breakfast for themselves and a guest. And can I just say that the only reason I shell out money for hotels rather than Airbnb’s, it’s mainly because of those delicious breakfast buffets. That’s what I’m really paying for. La Niña Delantro also gets an additional €2,500 as the winner winner.
Once we get to the negative critiques, it’s pretty obvious that Kelly and Angelita are the ones lip syncing, and because of the spoiler I already know who’s winning that one. But I do understand the reasons why the two of them got sent to the bottom, especially Angelita who the judges already know as a seasoned and professional queen from the previous episodes.
The lip sync starts and I understand why Kelly was the one sent home. She almost fumbled that theater mask reveal and it just went downhill from there. It really shook her up! Anways, ¡Adios!
