Ron Watches Drag Race Thailand Season 3 Episode 3

I tried writing this early this morning but I had a fever and was feeling just horrible and I couldn’t push through with it. I felt better halfway through the day and managed to write two blog posts, but by the time night rolled around I was beat again. So you all are getting this two days late!

We said goodbye to Srirasha in the previous episode, and Spicy is emotional about it, having been working with Srirasha for some time now. But the rest of the queens are also emotional because they feel that Srirasha just gave up and didn’t fight for her spot.

Gawdland, on the other hand, felt like quitting drag after the critiques she received on the stage. Which maybe I’m just not getting because I don’t speak Thai but it didn’t seem that bad in the translations? But maybe because when you hear it in the actual language it’s much more hard-hitting? Anyway, she gets over it.

The next day Spicy explains her emotions a little bit, saying it was a combination of realizing that it’s going to be a fight to stay every week and also every week will end with one of them leaving. The queens also talk about possible challenges and Zepee throws a little shade at Siam by implying that Siam being a fake bitch would put her in the top of an acting challenge.

Pangina enters and tells them that the mini challenge is to dress up as…rappers. Again, this could be because of the quality of the translations but I’m not entirely comfortable with this! I am a little nervous!

And while I don’t think they did anything particularly offensive, it wasn’t…good. I’m so sorry but I just felt secondhand embarrassment all throughout! It felt like the reading challenge from Drag Race Philippines that I mostly cringed at as well.

Anyways, Frankie Wonga and Benze Diva win the mini challenge and are now the team leaders of the girl groups for this week’s Maxi Challenge. Frankie’s team is made up of Spicy, Gawdland, Shortgun, and Kara Might while Benze’s is made up of Gigi, Zepee, Nane Sphere, and Siam. Frankie’s group dub themselves the Mean Gays while Benze’s are the Gurlden Flowers and I just feel the Mean Gays are going to flop because of that name.

Although I may be wrong because judging from the walkthrough, the Gurlden Flowers aren’t looking so good and it looks like they’re going to be a mess, while the Mean Gays get your average critique from Pangina. The session with Badmixy doesn’t help either, because Siam as revealed as being…less than good with the rapping. The Mean Gays perform much better during the session and maybe they might choke during the actual performance but they’re very much looking like the winners right now.

The next day as they’re preparing for the performance Siam gets some focus as he performs a ritual for a dead friend and I feel like this just means he’s going to be the bottom queen this week and possibly even go home. Also, OMG CW for suicide? I was a little agog at how casually Siam’s revelation about her friend was handled.

The Gurlden Flowers perform first and maybe because I’ve already conditioned myself but I couldn’t help but keep noticing Siam not being in sync with the rest of the queens. But maybe the Mean Gays will flop because I felt like all of them were uncoordinated throughout the performance. Or at least the editing made it look that they were.

As usual, I am contractually obligated to post the Flexbomb Girls whenever a Drag Race franchise does the girl group challenge.

The runway theme is basically male drag and well…varying degrees of success. I liked Gigi Ferocious’ look! I also liked the humor Zepee brought to the runway. Siam’s was…something. I did appreciate that she took it to an unexpected direction. I also liked Spicy’s look but that may be tinged with a little bit of me thinking that Spicy is hot.

The Gurlden Flowers win — just as I said! — and Zepee is the one that wins the RuBadge and the money. Congrats queens! Meanwhile, the Mean Gays experience a little bit of being the target of Mean Gays because the judges read them. And the judges include known shady queen Mama Pao. And she was toned down here!

Pangina stirs the pot even more by asking the Mean Gays who should go home this week and poor Kara Might is the victim. And when the judges finally deliberate it’s Kara and Spicy who end up in the bottom. Normally I’d pick Spicy as the one to leave but who knows what’ll happen!

And Spicy wins! A really deserved win because I don’t know what the hell Kara was doing even after Gawdland explained it.
