This is the problem with old age — I get sick a lot more often and things get pushed around. I was supposed to do this as it premiered yesterday but because I was sick a couple of days before that everything just got pushed back. But now we’re here!
Kiki went home in the previous episode and I liked how Actavia is so self-deprecating but not excessively so? I thought it was refreshing that she seemed to have a clear assessment of who she is and what she’s capable of.
Chanel, on the other hand, is feeling her oats and Kyran is not having it in the confessionals. Will they finally have a face-to-face argument in this episode or will this be something that will be stewing throughout the season? Also Kyran probably doesn’t think of it as shady because she’s promising in the confessionals to be stinkier than ever but my golly those shots of her sweaty and Rileasa gagging? I can’t.
The next day La Voix has a little go at Kyran being the “peaked early” girl and I can’t believe that Kyran sorta kinda did a “Chad about to die” joke on La Voix.
Ayways, Ru walks in and tells them that today’s mini challenge is going to be the Reading Challenge so let’s see what this year’s crop of queens has got! And…well. La Voix deserved that win is the best thing to say.
This week’s Maxi Challenge is the Snatch Game and there’s drama immediately as both Lill and Charra Tea are doing Queen Victoria. La Voix is doing Liza Minnelli, who’s already been done by Alexis Michelle and Hannah Conda to great success. And Chanel is doing Coco Peru who Ru and Michelle personally know. All risky choices!
There is at least a little bit of resolution as Ru pushes Charra Tea to do a Mary Poppins via Nadine Coyle thing, but the queen I’m worried for is Actavia because the character Ru is pushing her towards is a little far from what she initially planned. But let’s see what happens!
Just from the intros I feel like Kyran and La Voix are going to be the top queens while Lill and Charra are going to be the safe queens. It’s not looking good for Marmalade, Chanel, Rileasa, and Actavia!
However, Marmalade does kinda push herself into safe territory as the Snatch Game progresses and Charra is getting the laughs. Chanel and Rilease though…goodness.
The next day, Charra and Actavia have a nice little talk about how they’ve struggled with anxiety and how they’re in a good place with that right now. But it’s Chanel finally breaking the bitchy exterior that really takes the spotlight. It’s always great to see the soft gooey interior to what has been just a bitchy and sometimes off-putting hard exterior for the past few weeks.
For the runway, the queens are asked to create their own Doctor Who characters and for the first time I found Kyran’s outfit…meh. Not even her charisma could make me enjoy it. Rileasa’s got a killer outfit and it may just save her from the bottom two. Which means it may be Actavia and Coco in the bottom.
Marmalade’s look though? She’s never had a bad runway so far. That look was just gorgeous.
Marmalade and Lill are the safe queens this episode and poor Actavia I think this may just be your time to go. I dunno but I feel like the production is going to keep Chanel around for just a bit longer. BUT back in the Werk Room you’re already getting this “I’m going home” energy from Chanel so maybe Actavia is sticking around for a bit!
La Voix and Kyran are double winners and you know what? Deserved! They even had the bit going after they got their badges! But what was surprising to me was Actavia ending up safe! I really thought Rileasa’s outfit would save her from the bottom but I guess it wasn’t enough.
Honestly thought that it was just a meh lip sync for the both of them but Rileasa was a smidge better. That said I really thought it was going to be Actavia in the bottom!
