Here I am, desperately trying to catch up on everything because of the hectic days I’ve had. I just hope that there comes a time when I can actually catch Drag Race Thailand on the day it airs!
Benze Diva sashayed away in the previous episode and while everybody saw her as their mom, it wasn’t exactly a tear-filled goodbye. They’re sad but they’re not crying over her.
As for Snatch Game winner Spicy, everybody is congratulating her for her performance and saying it couldn’t have gone to anyone else and I have to admit — like I did in the post on the previous episode — that I just couldn’t get into the Snatch Game. I’ll just trust them!
The next day, I get the impression that Gawdland is about to be the main focus of this episode’s plot because she’s being snarky about Spicy’s win in the confessionals. As I’ve said in multiple Drag Race posts, this just means you’re up for a win or you’re about to sashay away.
There’s also the continued issue the queens have with Siam, another part of the show that I’m just not getting. I really don’t understand why they dislike her! I’ve seent hem talk about it but I don’t understand their reasons. And it’s not like I think Siam has been doing a good job. I’ve found her to be meh but not enough to fight with, if that makes sense.
This week’s mini challenge is basically food ASMR and I don’t know if I’m going to be able to handle this. And no, I just can’t. The close-ups? The sounds? It’s not working for me I wanna cry. This is torture for me. Anyways, Gawdland ends up winning the mini challenge and the power to assign the roles for the Maxi Challenge this week which is the Rusical.
And this Rusical seems like it’s got a little more ambition than some of the other Rusical’s we’ve seen. It at least sounds more ambitious than the first Drag Race Philippines Rusical! It’s a Rusical within a Rusical, and I’m just hoping that it translates well to non-Thai people.
Gawdland hands out the roles for the queens and maybe she should have been the one the queens picked on rather than Siam because she gave them all the roles they didn’t want. Or at least, what they thought they didn’t want because once they start doing choreo it looks like Gawdland is the only one in trouble.
The next day as the queens prepare for the Rusical, we’re hit with a whopper when Frankie Wonga talks about his sister who committed suicide. It’s a heartbreaking story but just like Drag Race Mexico‘s second season, I wish that this scene was edited better? It’s just dropped on the audience with no build-up from the rest of the episode so it’s a little jarring.
We get to the musical and…I actually think it’s good! Or at least it’s better than Drag Race Philippines‘ first go at a Rusical! I could understand everything and I felt that the humor was broad enough for it to appeal to audiences who aren’t Thai!
As for the runway…I think they were referencing things I am not familiar with? I liked Zepee’s outfit but I feel like I would appreciate it more if I understood the references she was saying. And what’s all the talk about giants and what do they have to do with the other queens’ outfits?
Spicy and Frankie are both safe for this episode. And judging from the critiques, it looks like Siam isn’t just going to be in the bottom but is going to be sent home this episode. Gigi is the one she’s going to be lipsyncing against but they’re not going to send Gigi home.
After the queens come back from the Werk Room, it’s Gawdland that gets the win this episode and as predicted, it’s Siam and Gigi in the bottom. And quite honestly Siam’s lip sync looked so awkward? And painful? Not surprised she got sent home.
