Ron Does Stuff

Had a really busy today but also did not want to once again have to play catch up with Drag Race Thailand. So here I am watching it just a few hours after it airs!

Siam finally got sent home last episode, with me none the wiser as to the reason why the other girls disliked her so much or thought that she was fake. But the hatchet seems to be buried now that she’s sashayed away. Although I think they’d continue to pick on her if it was Gigi that got sent home.

The girls also seem to be reassessing their behavior now that Siam has been sent home, thinking that maybe other people might think they’re too harsh on her. I can’t really say if they were because I don’t speak Thai. For all I know, there really were nuances in Siam’s speech and actions that warranted the constant picking on her. It also may be that the show is just badly edited and didn’t show the scenes that would explain the other queens’ behavior.

Gawdland is also rethinking her actions as well, despite those same actions leading to her first win. She feels guilty about giving Zepee a role she didn’t want, but Zepee reassures her that it’s okay. At least that’s what she says face to face. In the confessionals though?

The next day, Pangina tells them that it’s going to be wig on wig on wig for the mini challenge, and quite frankly I couldn’t understand the criteria for judging. Was it the number of wigs? The dancing? How the wigs were taken off? Either way, Nane Sphera wins the mini challenge and aside from the cash prize also gets the power to decide the pairs for the Maxi Challenge. Nane pairs herself with Zepee Gawdland with Gigi, and Frankie Wonga with Spicy Sunshine. Completely unrelated I would watch a Frankie Wonga and Spicy Sunshine sex tape.

So the Maxi Challenge is…the pairs need to have a conversation about the prompt that Pangina gives them? I also don’t know if this is a mistake on the part of the translators or the subtitle people but the Maxi Challenge is called “Dubble Trouble:” so will they be dubbing? It’s unclear right now!

What is becoming clearer is that Gigi isn’t happy about being paired with Gawdland and Gawdland isn’t convinced that they’re going to come up with something good either. We might just have our bottom two for this episode.

Or maybe not! Because Zepee and Nane Sphera are up first and Nane Sphera immediately flubs it. Zepee is definitely carrying this pair so it depends on whether they’re going to be judged in pairs or individually. Even Pangina looks confused, while also looking hot at the same time.

Gigi and Gawdland don’t do any better either. I don’t knof if it’s because I’m tired or whatever but it was pretty boring. I…I just can’t. It felt like they were underwater. Ituned out around the security guard keyword.

Frankie Wonga and Spicy Sunshine are the clear winners of this challenge. Not only were they able to use the keywords, they were able to use it in the proper context. There was an actual storyline that was followed! They managed to cleverly incorporate the words and were funny even to me, someone who can’t understand Thai!

For the runway, the queens were given the theme The Iconic and…I feel like Zepee’s and Gawdland’s were subpar. Spicy looked good with the Kylie outfit though, and so did Gigi with the Rihanna from the 2014 Met Gala gown. Frankie Wonga’s Karl Lagerfeld was okay, while Nane Sphera’s “Vogue” Madonna was meh for me other than the wig. Sorry, I really liked that MTV Music Video Awatds performance and Nane really didn’t channel that!

The queens are als going to be judged individually this episode, so Nane Sphera may just end up int he bottom, although that really seems like Gigi and Gawdland territory.

And surprisingly, to me at least, all the queens got both negative and positive critiques. While it doesn’t look like there’s a clear winner, it still is pretty obvious that either Gigi or Gawdland will be in the bottom for this episode. Gigi might just escape the bottom because she gave the production a nice, juicy “inspirational” moment.

Another surprise for me is that they have an Untucked this episode! Mostly they just show snippets of the queens backstage but never really show what they’re talking about. Unless there’s a Thai Untucked that I’m not aware of!

When the queens return to the stage, Frankie emerges as this week’s winner and the bottom two is Gigi and…Nane. I was sure it was going to be Gawdland but I guess she has a guardian angel somewhere because she keeps getting saved. Even Gigi is protesting! But what’s done is done.

Gigi and Nane lip sync and it wasn’t even a fight. Nane just really wiped the floor with her.
