Ron Watches Century of Love Episode 8

There’s only two episodes left and yet I feel there’s still a lot of stuff that needs to be resolved. How are they going to wrap everything up?

We found out in the previous episode that Wadfah is actually evil! Or at least a career woman who needs to earn her coin, mawmah. She’s managed to convince San that the stone is as much hers as his, all because he ended up giving it to Wee up the butt.

Okay first off, who’s the T-Pop boyband they’re plugging at the start of this episode? Is this the one that Daou and Offroad were part of? Laz1? Were they created by the Lazada app? This isn’t the one they show on the show but I just put it in just because.

Anyways, after that boyband interlude Wee tells his grandma — who use to crush on San! — that he just can’t be with San anymore because he’ll only bring him trouble. Okay sure but what if San wants the trouble? What if he’s into that? Ask him that first!

While Wee is out wallowing in self-pity, San is suffering from the effects of the magic stone’s poison. Tao’s brought some magical pouch with him that he’s filled with used-up incense that he blessed in a scene that had way too dramatic music and it helps a bit, but of course it’s not the cure. They really need to find Wadfah and I think they should fire Tao because how were you able to find Wadfah in the first place but can’t get a hold of her now? Hmm?

San is back up and he wants to see because of course dick takes precedence. I understand you, San! But most everyone in his family is against it and thinks he should patch things up with Wadfah instead so he can get the magic stone back. But Chu is a real one and supports San’s desire to see Wee. She’ll get the stone back herself. Listen to Gen Z!

Ton is also a real one because he made sure that San and Wee would be able to talk to each other about the whole situation. And San tells Wee that he loves him! A new life be damned! Which sucks because how long does their relationship have now before San croaks? And then they have a dramatic kiss but Wee is still resisting it. Baby, you’ve only got limited time! Get to it!

In the ~scuffle~ San manages to lose the pouch of magic ash that Tao made for him earlier in the episode and being to feel the full force of the magic stone’s poison once more. Nothing like danger to bring people together! Third even shows up to help and I really think they should just be a polycule!

Would it be so bad to have it be San/Wee/Third?

Wee and Third bring San to the temple and we get the same hurt/comfort scene that San experience a hundred years ago with Wad! The non-evil Wad! If this isn’t a sign that Wee is Wad I don’t know what is. Plus, you already love him! It’s fate!

Of course, Wee is pissed that San gave the stone to Wadfah since it means he’s going to die in a matter of weeks, but San says it’s fine because he’s lived long enough and he’s never felt as happy as when he’s with Wee. But what about Wee? You’re going to leave him alone when you die! Ever thought of that? However, Wee is more concerned if he’s worth all of that so I guess we’ve found someone who has lower self-esteem than me!

The group finally reconvenes and loops Third in about the whole stone thing and that’s where they figure out that if Wadfah really is the reincarnation of Wad, why didn’t she recognize Third? THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN SAYING! Tao should get fired, honestly.

Thanks to Ton, the gang at least has an idea of where Wadfah’s been. Wee manages to find her and JUST LIKE I SAID, she’s in cahoots with Suchat. SHOULD HAVE LOOKED FOR THAT BODY.

Wee witnesses a whole scene of expository dialogue happen but of course doesn’t take video. Come on man! To Wadfah’s credit she kicks Suchat’s ass and asks for more money. Peak feminism!

Once Wee shares everything he’s seen with the gang, San is trying to be all manly and heterosexual by saying that Wee shouldn’t get involved in the situation any more than he already is but Wee is adamant. They’re going to be together and he’s not going to let San die.

Meanwhile, Wadfah has successfully sold the stone to Suchat and his sugar daddy. Or at least it started out that way but apparently Suchat has his notifications on for the temple’s Reels because Tao and the rest of the gang have announced that the ~real~ stone will be on display on the goddess’ birthday and that any other stone out there is fake. But of course their stone is the fake one and they just need the villains to make a try for the stone again.

And I think this is the first misstep for the show, I think? I don’t get why they had to go with a comedic tone with Wadfah trying to get the fake stone that she thinks is real but since the show has been doing great so far I’ll just roll with it. Wadfah agrees to switch stones but unbeknownst to her and San’s group, Suchat and his sugar daddy are going to kill all of them anyway when the switch happens.

Unfortunately, the magic pouch Tao gave San has already stopped working by the day of the switch and San can’t go there himself on account of him being struck down by the stone’s poison and all. Left without a choice, Wee is the one who goes to the switch.

And of course the switch doesn’t go as planned. Wadfah is a mistrustful bitch by nature and the fake stone that they brought to trick her with unfortunately malfunctions as they’re about to make the switch. When they do manage to get the real stone anyway, Suchat is right outside to take it from them. San arrives to save them, but will he have enough strength to do so? How are they going to resolve this in two more episodes?
