Ron Watches Castlevania Nocturne Season 2 Episode 3

Things aren’t looking good for our heroes at the end of the second episode, with Mizrak’s faith practically decimated. How are they going to fare in this new episode? Let’s find out!

Just like in the previous episodes, we get a flashback to Egypt, where vampire Drolta is unsuccessfully trying to find the perfect vessel for Sekhmet to reincarnate into. Although I don’t know if reincarnate is the right term. Be reborn into, maybe? Anyways, the “latest” body is a failure and now I’m really intrigued as to how Erzsebet became the successful candidate.

In the present day, it looks like things really are over between Mizrak and Olrox as Mizrak makes it clear that he isn’t as mercenary as Olrox is. Maria and Tera, on the other hand, looks like they’re going to get themselves into trouble as they see the bodies of the National Guard being taken to the Abbot who is turning them into night creatures. They’re not aware that Drolta’s back and they might just get a nasty surprise if they decide to attack the Abbot now.

Meanwhile, Alucard, Annette, and Richter are still making their way to Paris, with a stop to save some villagers along the way. It’s another opportunity for the show to show how Ricther and Annette are getting closer and how Alucard is now even more the grumpy bisexual uncle.

On the other hand, Maria, Edouard, and the Revolutionary Guard who’s now a night creature are contemplating the nature of monstrosity. Edouard and the Revolutionary Guard captain seems to have retained their humanity despite their transformation and that one particular night creature — you guys know which one — doesn’t seem too happy about it. And Maria doesn’t seem to be happy about her powers either as she’s beginning to think that she’s creating monsters, just like her father. And as for her father? He’s given up on his initial plans of using the night creatures against Erzsebet. Now he’s got that whole Denethor thing going where he thinks that all is lost.

Maria is on an entirely different path as him though, learning to expand the stable of creatures she can summon as well as how to control them. And boy oh boy she’s going to use that newfound knowledge to kill the Abbot and Tera has to plead with Juste to stop her from doing this.

Alucard, Annette, and Richter finally reach Paris, just in time to see the beheading of Louis XVI, and we get a little discussion about whether he was a good king or not between Richter and Annette. Alucard is more of a realist between the three of them, because just like he said, he’s been around long enough to see the patterns that these things take.

That discussion is cut short, however, by Annette experiencing something. It’s the same three headed creature she’s been seeing throughout the episodes, and now it looks like she’s going to be intimately involved in whatever this creature is doing.
