Deadline extension for the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025

The Manzano Memoirs book launch

The Ateneo de Manila University Press and the Ortigas Foundation Library will be launching The Manzano Memoirs: The Life and Military Career of Colonel Narciso L. Manzano by Craig Scharlin on February 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. There’s going to be a book signing and cocktails!

Publishing reaction to the Neil Gaiman accusations

By now, everybody’s probably aware of the horrible things Neil Gaiman has been accused of doing thanks to a bombshell article published in New York magazine. While that article focused on the victims, Publishers Weekly has reached out to Neil Gaiman’s agents and publishers about the story. According to the publication, Gaiman’s literary agent and public speaking agent did not respond to requests for comment, while publishers HarperCollins, Norton and Marvel Comics have said that they have no upcoming projects with him.

Meanwhile, Dark Horse Comics has said they are “currently working on a statement” while DC Comics did not respond to requests for comment. Head to the Publishers Weekly site to see the reaction from authors like John Scalzi and Gail Simone about the Neil Gaiman accusations.

Creative Nation grantees for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair

Back in November last year, the National Book Development Board called for applicants for the Creative Nation grant for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and now we finally have the grantees! Congrats on the eight grantees!

NBDB 2025 Publication Grant

Publishers, enterprises, institutions, authors, and editors looking to publish a book this year should consider applying for the National Book Development Board’s 2025 Publication Grant, which can grant them as much as P200,000 to help with the publication of their book.
