It’s the final episode! I’m several months late but who the hell cares!
After having a great time snowboarding and skiing in the previous episode, the boys are headed to yet another restaurant for the mukbang segment of the show. This time they’re eating lamb! They play some music on the way there and in the process Jimin manages to bang his head against the car door. Bless.
They finally arrive at the restaurant and I’m about to say something extremely stupid. I love that they’re multilingual and can switch to different languages? It’s not like I’m not bilingual myself but I just find it impressive and endearing, okay? Stop shouting at me!
The draft beers the boys ordered finally arrive and I’ve never been much of a beer drinker — I’ve never liked the taste! — but they way they enjoy it so much makes me want to give it a try again some other time. And then they start eating again and I’m trying to cut down on food, okay? Maybe it was a wrong decision to restart watching this but it’s the last episode so I will push through!
The food doesn’t stop coming and there’s even a visit from the restaurant’s head chef who gifts them with a serving of sashimi, which kinda makes me want some right now. Even just a California maki which I know isn’t the most authentic Japanese thing but the heart wants what the heart wants!
The boys eat and eat and eat and when Jimin tries to unbuckle his pants because they’re eating so much he finds that he’s already unbuckled them and then Jungkook tells him that he should now take off his pants and underwear? Does he not know I’m mentally unstable?
After that big meal the boys get back into the car and the aches and pains from snowboarding and skiing start to set in. They’re headed back to their accommodations but before that they’re going to stop by a convenience store as if they just hadn’t had a big ass meal at the restaurant. At the convenience store — a Lawson’s! — they get a literal block of ice, beers, and then perform “Standing Next to You” (Convenience Store ver.)
Watch the music video too!
While Jimin is paying for the first few items Jungkook picked up, Jungkook makes another round the store to pick up even more food. My goodness it’s a good thing Jungkook’s rich because he can definitely eat someone out of house and home!
They finally get to their accommodations and as they walk in they keep groaning and moaning and my mind is too dirty to watch this. Anyways, the accommodation is fancy. The living room and dining room and kitchen set-up on the second floor? Mawma. We also find out that Jungkook still hasn’t eaten the snacks he bought earlier. How much food did you buy, Jungkook?
Once everything’s in its proper place Jimin asks Jungkook if he’s going to go in the “scuzzi” which leads to some playful teasing between the two of them that leads to censored curse words and thrown slippers. I wish they didn’t censor the curse words because I like how they sound? I like the sounds of curse words in any language!
Jungkook’s a little taken aback by the cold outside but Jimin is already shirtless with his tattoos on display and I really am old because I remember when ARMY just prayed for just a sliver of skin from photos and now it’s all exposed. It’s sensory overload and I don’t know if I can deal with it!
Eventually they make a bet on whoever loses a round of rock, paper, scissors has to lie facedown in the snow and Junkook loses, but what I’m focused on is how pink Jimin’s skin is after he’s been in and out of the Jacuzzi. He looks like he’s sunburned! That water must be hot.
After that time in the Jacuzzi, Jungkook is eating again because of course. Jimin is exhausted and I can totally relate as an ancient eldritch being whose daily commute is enough to wallop me. Jimin brings in what I assume is a whisky because I am not a drinker and I really have no idea what is. All I know is it has complex notes of fruit, floral, and nut.
Jimin also promises to share what it was like when he first tried whisky in a live after his enlistment which isn’t that far off now, to be honest! Some ARMY out there is taking note of this, I’m sure. I also legitimately let out a laugh when Jungkook pulled up a baby high chair that Jimin could “take home” with him. This is also where Jimin promised that he’s sculpting his butt in the military and that it’ll be out of this world once he’s out. We’re waiting!
I’m also now just finding out that they already had episode 1 of the show in the can by the time they did this Japanese trip! And we’re literally watching the show basically become a reaction channel which I of course am not complaining about!
And then they’re eating again???? Honestly amazing how they eat as much as they do and still manage to look as good as they do. But then again they do have the resources and the time to work out and keep in shape so really I think it’s not that surprising. Props to Jungkook’s cooking skills though, especially as he’s just feeling it along the way. And yes, I am complimenting him when all I know how to cook is rice and instant noodles.
The next day, the boys’ bodies are still aching from all the skiing and snowboarding that they did the day before and having been lost climbing a mountain before? I can totally relate. The aches and pains the next day really are something. Also I see you Jungkook knowing exactly what kind of perfume Namjoon would like.
Of course, I shouldn’t be surprised that they’re stopping at a restaurant before they head to the airport and fly back to Korea. And the food, again, looks delicious? There’s a Japanese restaurant near where I live and it’s definitely not on the level that the guys are eating but I kinda want to go there now?
I know that their enlistments are almost over now, but it’s a little poignant to hear about Jin messaging them or them reminiscing about their past. And then there’s the pain of hearing them talk about their upcoming military service as they drive to the airport to go back to Korea. I’m so happy that they end the show smiling and laughing. We’ll see you guys again soon!
