Ron Watches Love Is A Poison Episode 6

We’re already at the halfway point! This has been a really fun and entertaining series so far that’s been the right amount of silliness and drama. Let’s keep going!

Because he’s a coward who can’t come to terms with his feelings for Haruto, Shiba used Haruto’s con man past as an excuse to throw him out of the house in the previous episode. With no other choice, Haruto goes back to the criminal group he was part of before, who just happen to be guys who are all wearing suits. I don’t know why this is tickling me so.

Despite it being his choice, Shiba is still sulking in his house now that Haruto isn’t in it. There are also no more fancy dishes to eat and Shiba has gone back to his protein bar diet. Even the cacti are pointing out that Shiba is lonely now that Haruto is out of the house.

Just like the tried and tested formula, now that his personal life is in tatters, Shiba is doing well at work. The automotive case is a victory for him and apparently the New York office thinks he’s amazing. This makes him think he’s made the right decision. He doesn’t even have to worry about a partner anymore because he’s now relying on an online AI (?) thing to do the research for him. This partner at least doesn’t make his heart flutter. Baby, I don’t think you’re making the right decision here.

At what I assume is the office cafeteria, Kotaro tells Shiba that the real estate scammers that Haruto was a part of has produced another victim. Kotaro does point out that the police are closing in on the scammers so it’s just a matter of time before they get caught, prompting Shiba to seek out Haruto’s location.

While he’s asking around at the bar he hangs out with, one of the kids that Haruto hangs out with walks into the bar and asks him if he’s Haru’s boyfriend Ryo, which I’m pretty sure the bartender is going to report back to Kotaro. Shiba finds out from the kid that Haruto has been keeping his word of their agreement, not sharing one detail about him. He then takes Shiba to the group of kids that Haruto has apparently been supporting and girl. It’s a little Gary Stu-ish but then again the show has already set that expectation from the very beginning.

Of course, all of this just makes Shiba regret everything he’s said about Haruto being part of the underground world. And of course he sets off to find and rescue Haruto from this criminal gang. The criminal gang who Haruto is now charging a billion yen for the latest job, which of course the gang isn’t happy about.

Just when it seems like the gang boss is going to do something to Haruto, in comes Shiba demanding that Haruto come home with him. And in a hilarious turn of events that I liked, turns out that Shiba can’t fight! It’s actually Haruto who ends up saving him after Shiba apologizes for what he said about him in the previous episode. They end up running in the rain as they escape from the gang like a pair of lovers would!

Once they’re a safe distance away from the gang, Haruto asks Shiba if the unfinished contract between them was the only reason why he went out to look for him. It’s the perfect opportunity to declare one’s love and Shiba takes it, telling Haruto that his heart aches when he thinks of him and that he starts to tear up without reaason. Shiba tells Haruto he’s in love with him and then they kiss!

Gotta say, my recent dive into Thai BLs has me finding this chaste peck lacking, but that’s the climate there in Japan and I can’t fault them for it too much. Besides, there’s other things to worry about, such as Haruto’s tragic past. DUN DUN DUN!
