Ron Attends Walk The Line in Bulacan

I am going to be honest with you all — I’ve never had good luck with Enhypen concert here. During their first one at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, I was unable to secure the tickets. During the second one in New Clark City, I was able to secure tickets but that was a horror show, which I will elaborate on later. And I still had horrible luck this third time.

I had actually intended to blog about the New Clark City concert when I attended last year, because I thought it would be a fun time because they had Ferris Wheels and stuff at the place. I thought it would be memorable. And in a way it was because I’ve never been so exhausted with an event like I was with that one.

From the literal hours of lining up, getting covered with dust, roasting under the Pampanga heat, it was all too much for my decrepit and eldritch bones. When I finally got to the VIP in Fate I literally just lay on the floor because just getting into the venue was exhausting. People were literally running after water sellers because the water ran out and people were thirsty! I was so exhausted and my body so tired that I didn’t even finish the concert. I left before the encore!

I did get some videos though!

I was so exhausted that I didn’t blog about because I was so pissed at the organizer and didn’t want Enhypen to catch any strays because of it.

There was a different organizer this time around and I gotta say, it was a vast improvement. No long lines, ACTUAL AIRCONDITIONING BECAUSE WE WAITED INSIDE THE PHILIPPINE ARENA, and there was free water once we were in the stadium. They even gave us clappers to call for water if we needed it.

I got a Sunghoon photocard when I entered the Engene Zone!
I couldn’t get a picture with the standees because I went to the concert alone and I also I do not want to be perceived.
This was when we were finally being lined up to head to the stadium.
This was were I was at!

So what was wrong this time, since it seems the organization was vastly improved? It’s me. I’m the problem. I had spent a long night working and did not get enough sleep before the concert. This wouldn’t have been a problem when I was young and sprightly but I am old and already have one foot in the grave and by the time we were herded into the waiting room I was already sleepy. This was early int he afternoon, people! Not a good time to feel sleepy before a concert.

I got a little burst of energy injected into me during the Tapestry Wars™ inside the Arean — people who were there will know what I mean — but it wasn’t enough to get me through the night. It wasn’t so much that I was nodding off during the concert but I was so sleep-deprived that I had a distorted view of the concert in my head?

While in the midst of it all I kept thinking “Oh the guys aren’t enjoying it” or “Oh they just want this to be over” which is crazy because now that I’m looking at the videos of other people the audience and Enhypen had fun. Truly, sleep deprivation can just alter your perception.

What does need to be noted is that despite the negative cloud sleep deprivation had cast over me, Heeseung just draws you in. He’ s that charismatic on stage that even in my barely lucid state I could clearly perceive that Heeseung was there to bias-wreck everyone.

I didn’t take videos this time around because I felt that the concert felt off but now that I’ve had some sleep I clearly was deluded or something. I did take a few pics!

Also — this is not a paid post — damn the zoom on a Samsung Galaxy is awesome? Because as you can see in my previous photo I was not that close to the stage.

So what did I learn this time around? I’m no longer young enough to do this without any sleep or a minimal amount of sleep. We need better concert organization because I was well-rested when I went to the Fate in New Clark City concert and would have probably had the time of my life there but that whole day just sapped my energy and I couldn’t enjoy it. Hopefully, the next time Enhypen comes around all the stars align and I finally, finally enjoy them without any distractions.
