Shiba is no longer a virgin who can’t drive thanks to an hot springs trip in the last episode and now we get to see how this changes his and Haruto’s relationship. Or at least that what I expect to happen!
The first scene is probably days after the hot springs trip because they’re in Shiba’s home and sleeping in sweaters — unimaginable to me as a tropical country dweller — and they’re being all sweet because Shiba would rather cuddle than go to work and isn’t that the dream? We also find out that Haruto is really turned on by Shiba in the courtroom.
In the office, Shiba is offered the position of managing partner. I don’t know how law office hierarchy works but that sounds big and the firm’s big boss says he sees Shiba leading the firm with him in the future. He’s even being sent to a function in place of the boss.
He’s allowed to bring a plus one with him and when Haruto finds out he is excited but that excitement is immediately squashed because he recognizes that this is the type of function where you bring your wife or business partner. But Shiba proves that he’s the best boyfriend ever when he tells Haruto that he’s going with him because he’s an important partner. That gets Haruto going, he’s ready to have sex on the couch.
Afterwards, Shiba takes Haruto out to get a custom suit done and my ghad get yourself a man who will undress you and dress you. And looks like Shiba’s got a thing for formal wear too because he’s just imagining Haruto in different suits. Now, I’m no Derek Guy or anything but the two of them do look good in suits!
In fact, Shiba may have done too good a job because everyone at the function is gawking at Haruto. And Shiba’s got that whole “Yeah look at him but he’s mine” chub going. BUT he’s the one who puts a damper on the whole situation when he introduces Haruto as his “assistant” to an important guest. If your thing is all about showing him off at least follow through! Don’t chicken out in the end!
The guest then proceeds to publicly embarrass Haruto, calling him a scumbag in front of everybody, so I guess the two of them have a past. Shiba isn’t going to take that lying down so he not only asks the guest to take back what he said BUT also reintroduces Haruto as his boyfriend AND promises to crush the guest if ever Haruto decides to sue for defamation. Now that’s how you do it! Even I’m getting all hot and bothered.
It’s a spectacle, a spectacle that’s seen by another character who I think hasn’t been introduced before as far as I can remember. And judging by the ominous music he’s not going to be on the guys’ side.
Later at the bar that Shiba frequents at, we find out that the guy tried to buy Haruto. Shiba is pissed and is prevented from beating up the guest by Haruto telling him that 1. he’s a weakling, and 2. standing up for him and calling him his boyfriend in public is enough.
And it all works out in the end, sorta, because it seems like the big boss doesn’t mind the whole kerfuffle since Shiba is being handed another case, this time around involving an investment firm branching out into real estate. The expansion is being blocked by a larger company, which Shiba has a past with. A previous case involving the larger company’s owner, Arisuinbo, was the only case he ever lost, but only because his senior in the company was leaking his legal strategies to Arisuinbo. Arisuinbo is also the new character at the party and possibly also the person to murder Haruto’s family, or at least that’s what the show wants us to think.
