This is the show’s penultimate episode and at the end of the previous episode, the show teased a little something about the jobless guests catching something in the fish trap. What could it be?
What the jobless guys caught in the fish trap is a squid platter…which Kian, Jin, and Ye-Eun bought in advance and put in the fish trap to give them a little pick-me-up since the guys are jobless at the moment. And in fairness to the guys, they quickly get the joke and react accordingly, acting like they caught an actual flapping fish.
After that little experiment, the guys sans Jin head to the gym, where Kian is working out with the former MMA fighter. Eventually, the two girl dancers join in and ask the jobless guys to help them work out and I wanna tell them that you missed out on the taut, muscular bodies of the climbing team. 안녕하세요 Min-Seob! I watched your vlog!
On the second floor of the B&B, the former MMA fighter shares more stories about life in North Korea. His mother left when he and his sister weren’t even in their teens, while his father was shot on the way to defect. It’s all well and good with his mother now, but he does admit to hating her when she first left for South Korea and I don’t blame him! But I don’t blame her for leaving as well.
While that is happening upstairs, Ye-Eun is preparing buckwheat noodles in the kitchen. She’s eventually joined by Jin and one of the guests, who cook spicy fish stew and boiled pork, respectively. The new(est) guests — the dancers — quickly adjust to the eating with their hands rule and I gotta say the shots of everyone eating are shot so well that I kinda want what they’re having as well.
Kian has another surprise for the guests — they’ve hired a squid boat and they’re all going squid fishing tonight. Which is an actual interesting activity that I would actually appreciate if I was a guest at the B&B. But…I think I misunderstood because it’s only Kian and Jin on the boat. They’re catching squid to serve as a snack for the guests. Still a sweet gesture! I just thought that everyone was going to take part in the fishing.
But maybe they don’t need to take part in it because Jin is doing fine on his own. Squid after squid comes up and maybe he’s going to make a sequel song to Super Tuna after this.
Speaking of Super Tuna, watch the music video on YouTube!
Stream it on Spotify too!
Everybody goes to sleep after feasting on the squids Kian and Jin caught and the main agenda the next day is Jin policing the guests — use the wall to come in! — and Kian talking to…a replacement! He needs to shoot I Live Alone so there’s a new guy taking over for just one day but what I’m thinking is why couldn’t he promote Jin or Ye-Eun instead?
Anywas, speaking of I Live Alone, you know who was featured there recently? Hobi!
The temporary employee is Kwak Joon Bin, who has also been a guest on Run Jin! Let’s take a look back at those two episodes!
And to be fair to Kian, Joon Bin is basically brought in to be an underling to Jin and Ye-Eun, who know the ins and outs of the B&B by this point. And to be fair to Joon Bin, he does what’s asked of him pretty much with no complaint and is even handy when it comes to recommending tourist spots since he is a travel vlogger after all.
Jin also continues to be especially nice to the former MMA fighter, even giving him a pair of what I assume are designer sunglasses after seeing that the lenses are gone from the MMA fighter’s own sunglasses. If I got that gift from Jin it definitely would be a family heirloom.
Everybody leaves the B&B by lunchtime, with the staff heading to a kalguksu place recommended by Joon Bin. The food looks delicious and I am, once again, craving food in the middle of the night. After a short coffee break, Jin and Joon Bin return to the B&B to clean and prepare tonight’s dinner, especially since it looks like the newest guests are a couple.
And the newest guests are indeed a couple. An older woman/younger man couple, with a four-year difference between them. And as anyone who know me in real life knows, I am so into that trope. All the other guests are impressed by the couple’s interactions as well, which I guess is bound to happen especially since South Korea is going to have a negative birth rate soon? The couple’s arrival couldn’t have been better timed as well as the jobless guys will be leaving the next day. Hopefully, the replacements are just as rambunctious.
Because these guys? Totally rambunctious, as proven by the literal party they have to end the day. And they get a free performance from Jin as well! People all over the world are going to pay for a Jin performance since he’s going on tour!
