At the end of the previous episode, Shiba and Haruto’s chaste little peck was seen by Kotaro, Shiba’s associate from the first episode. How will this affect these Japanese homosexuals? Let us see!
The Japanese homosexuals are back in their shared home, drinking coffee and regrouping after their loos to Arisuinbo. With the executive’s testimony no longer of any use to them, they turn instead to the environmental group that complained against the construction of the entertainment center. They need more evidence and Haruto says he’ll work on it.
Haruto pretends to be a college student writing a report and goes to the ~Environmental Department~ and asks about the environmental group that protested the entertainment center construction. He’s putting in the work!
Unfortunately, Kotaro is also putting in the work and has sent photos anonymously to the law firm’s senior partner. He’s accusing Haruto of being a criminal — which technicallt is true — and says that the investigations being done by Shiba and Haruto are “borderline illegal”. And the envelope wasn’t just sent to the senior partner but everyone in the firm. Damn. What got into your bussy, Kotaro? Shiba is then left with two choices — stop working with Haruto or quit the law firm.
Shiba and Haruto, however, don’t know that it’s Kotaro who’s done this to them and think it is all the work of Hachisuka, Shiba’s former senior. But that’s going to be a problem for another time because what the two of them fight over is Shiba insisting he’s going to continue working with Haruto and Haruto getting mad that Shiba’s giving up his ambition for him. But Shiba says that’s no longer his dream and that Haruto is what he wants and what’s important to him now and I am so alone you guys.
That said, Shiba still wants to know more about Haruto’s past and he turns to the kids he met back in episode six. They can’t tell him anything about Haruto’s past, but Shiba does get directed to the bartender at the restaurant where he usually hangs out. We then go back to 2019, when the bartender finds a sulking Haruto outside her establishment. We find out Haruto was homeless at the time and didn’t trust the bartender at first before finally opening up. We find out that the scar on his side is from trying to protect his mom, and the we find out that Arisuinbo is Haruto’s dad. His mom was Arisuinbo’s mistress and if I’ve understood the context clues correctly, Arisuinbo also murdered Haruto’s mom.
But that’s not the only surprise that Shiba’s getting tonight because he arrives home to find Haruto gone, leaving behind his sorta couple ring with Shiba. Is it over for these Japanese homosexuals?
