Ron Watches RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 10 Episode 2

Sooooo, I was going to sleep after watching the first episode on YouTube but thought I should maybe check out Wowpresentsplus just to see and wouldn’t you know it the second episode is already out. Good thing I checked!

Bosco immediately clocks how vague “Most Valuable Queen” is since they’re all tasked to give their single point to the queen they think is the most valuable. Bosco and Phoenix thinks they should all give each other points, but I think Olivia shows her hand a little too early by sharing that she could give her point to Aja, who is also a member of the House of Miyake Mugler. But in the end the bottom four end up giving each other their points. Which as Bosco pointed out is mathematically the best bet!

The next day, the mini challenge that the queens have to go through is to roll a softball up the Pit Crews’ chests without using their hands and I feel like I’ve seen this at local fiestas and Korean variety shows. Either way, it is hilarious to watch and is another win for Irene. She’s really going on a redemption tour!

The Maxi Challenge is an improv one and already I can feel that Phoenix is going to be in her head again because an acting challenge is the one that sent her home during her original season. The queens don’t fight over the roles though, which is quite a change from literally all the past seasons of Drag Race, whether regular or all star.

It’s immediately clear that there are queens who aren’t as confident about their chances in this challenge, with Aja and Phoenix in particular being very aware that they didn’t do well in their improve and acting challenges, respectively. Deja is sorta confident but you never really know in any episode of Drag Race!

And now we get the fight that usually happens during the picking of roles because Bosco’s playful reading — or at least Bosco still thinks it’s playful — is making Olivia feel a certain kind of way and she definitely lets Bosco now. And now the reading is not playful and the tension is immediately ratcheted up. Some of the queens are looking very tense as Bosco and Olivia trade barbs and on the one hand I would probably just as tense if I was in the same room but on the other hand since I’m watching from behind a screen I am living.

The Maxi Challenge starts and Aja is up first. It’s…not as bad as her All Stars 3 performance, I guess. But it wasn’t funny to watch either. Phoenix, though? I found myself laughing and I didn’t expect that. her grandma sold her pussy for a dollar!

Bosco is another one whose performance I enjoyed. Kitty being short for Kittoris? Genius. Her exposed eye being the glass eye and her being actually totally blind? Even Ru had to laugh. It might be her and Phoenix at the top but I could also be totally misreading things. And while they were good they weren’t Jessica Wild good.

On the day of the runway, the main tension comes from how the MVQ points are going to be assigned. Aja and Irene are thinking it’s better to give the points to each other if they’re both safe because none of the other girls are going to give it to them since they’re already in the lead. Olivia, however, already said at the top of the episode that she was still considering her point to Aja even if she won the first episode so there might be some family drama set to blow up anytime soon.

The runway starts with the theme Coming and Going where the front of the outfits have to look different from the back and I thought Phoenix and Aja’s looks were okay. But again, are these looks going to matter when it comes to determining the top two? Who, based on the critics, might include Irene the Alien again.

ANDDDDD, I totally misread the performance because the judges liked Irene and Bosco and Deja but thought Phoenix was only okay. So I guess there’s that! Irene and Bosco are in the top and now that I look back on it I wonder why Irene didn’t register as much with me. I did love the sudden voice change but that’s all I can remember. Or maybe it’s just because it’s already late over here.

The two of them lip sync to “Murder on the Dance Floor” and while I am initially impressed with what Bosco is doing with her outfit, I also start thinking that it’s actually Irene who’s doing a lip sync and that Bosco’s outfit might actually impede the judges from seeing her lip sync. It certainly impeded mine! BUT THEN BOSCO TAKES OFF HER OUTFIT AND BOOM! That gorgeous body definitely won her the lip sync.
