Ron Watches Love Is A Poison Episode 11

There were a lot of revelations at the end of the previous episode, as well as one shocker for Shiba: Haruto’s left their homosexual home and his half of their couple ring behind. Is it over for these two Japanese homos? Let’s find out in this penultimate episode!

Shiba is feeling bad because he’s drawn Haruto into a legal battle with his actual dad, not knowing that Haruto knows Arisuinbo is his dad and that he’s been itching to exact some revenge. And his and the audience’s fears are assuaged becase it turns out that the only reason Haruto left his ring behind is so he could successfully infiltrate the environmental group that could win them the case against Arisuinbo.

I thought that it would take longer before Haruto confronts the environmental group, but I forgot that not only is this the penultimate episode of the series, the episodes are less than 30 minutes long. He confronts what seems to be Arisuinbo’s contact within the environmental group and it looks like he got the information he needed but it also looks like there’s somebody spying on him from the literal bushes.

It turns out that it wasn’t just one individual, but a group of them! Wearing the same suits of the gang he used to be a part of so I’m guessing they’re holding him for ransom or something or just exacting revenge. We don’t immediately find out who they are but we do see them beat up Haruto and tie him up somewhere. They beat him up bad enough that he starts hallucinating his mom!

It turns out that it isn’t his former gang, but Arisuinbo’s thugs. We find this out because Arisuinbo shows up and Haruto still has the energy to be snarky towards him. While that’s happening, Kotaro is trying to convince Shiba to apologize for working with a ~criminal~ like Haruto, but Shiba is properly dickmatized and would rather resign than break up with him. Damn, Haruto, what that dick do?

My goodness, I’m really revealing my age with this one.

Also Kotaro saying that Shiba’s giving up his career for some fleeting emotion? Why are you the only homosexual allowed to have a relationship? Mind your own business!

Back to Haruto, Arasuinbo isn’t exactly making himself look like the father of the year as he calls Haruto’s mother “overly greedy”. Even worse than that, he’s okay with his thugs killing his kid! He’s even going to watch! Or maybe he wasn’t asking the thugs to kill Haruto because after they make Haruto take something he still manages to go back home to Shiba’s place. What did they give him?

We get a little hurt/comfort as Shiba tends to Haruto’s wounds, but I’m still curious as to what it is exactly that they had Haruto take? And as it turns out, Haruto didn’t take anything because he was able to break free from his bonds — suspension of disbelief! — and take on the three thugs. Even gets to threaten his father’s life but decides to fight him in the courthouse instead.

We also finally get to hear the full story of Haruto’s mom. She wasn’t killed directly by Arasuinbo, but he did send thugs to her house. None of them got to kill her but she decides to kill herself in the end anyway. But Haruto refuses to believe that and thinks Arasuinbo killed her, which is kinda true in a roundabout way. Haruto also explains that he never shared his connection to Arisuinbo because he was afraid that Shiba would hate him but of course that isn’t the case.

In fact, Shiba ends up reaffirming his feelings for Haruto, telling him that it doesn’t matter whose child he is. They also reaffirm their commitment to take down Arisuinbo, which would have been difficult if he was removed from the case but Kotaro changes his mind in the last minute and decides to support Shiba instead. Now there’s only the final legal showdown left!
