Work has been killing me this past few days and that’s why this blog has been a barren desert but the new month is going to be better? Hopefully? Anyway, let’s get into this new episode!
The previous episode saw Lydia Butthole Collins take the lip sync win, putting her in the lead with three points and Tina Burner in second place with two. Now all that’s left is to hand out the MVQ points and that is when the gaggery begins. I’m just flat out ignoring everything that happened before that because this moment just ate.
See, NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA intended to ally herself with Mistress Isabelle Brooks but she sensed that shenanigans were going on between Mistress and Jorgeous. Rather than give her points to Mistress, she was going to give it to Kerri Colby but was made to feel guilty about it so she ended up giving it to Mistress. Kerri gave her point to Jorgeous. AND THEN MISTRESS AND JORGEOUS GAVE THEIR POINTS TO EACH OTHER. THE GAGGERY.

LIKE. This isn’t going to be a trick that Mistress and Jorgeous can do again. They have to win this episode. Obviously, Kerri and NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA are pissed. Mistress is unapologetic. I quote: “Everyone knows you don’t trust a fat nasty bitch.”
The next day in the Werk Room, NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA is still smarting from the betrayal, coming after Mistress just throwing around the Broooks name “like water” and “picking up a kid every week.” I mean NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA didn’t lie!
The conversation is stopped by Ru entering the Werk Room to tell them that this week’s Maxi Challenge is going to be a rapping roast, basically FlipTop and…that’s always been a mixed bag when it comes to the results. But let’s see!
Since she won in the previous episode, Lydia is the one determining the roast order and since she was just accepted by Mistress as a drag daughter, Mistress is sitting beside Lydia on this one. Mistress is confident about her chances and I don’t blame her! She does read the girls on the regular. Now will she be able to do this in rap form? I’m not sure! Lydia isn’t sure about her chances, that’s for sure, as she reveals that she hasn’t written rap lyrics before. But she’ll do her best!
Elsewhere in the Werk Room, Tina and NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA have their sights on Mistress. Tina is pretty confident that she’ll do well as she did some rapping during her original season. Despite having never sang or rapped before, NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA is also confident about her chances because, in her own words, this is just “reading on beat”. Jorgeous and Kerri also feel the same way so I already think that this is going to be a Lydia win again because she’s the only one who’s been apprehensive about her status in this roast.
Lydia finally comes up with the roast order and it’s Tina Burner, NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA, herself, Mistress, Jorgeous, and Kerri in last. She went with the non-shady route!
While they’re working on their make-up, Mistress asks the room if they would consider giving their points first to her and Jorgeous again and did she really expect a different answer than what she got? Of course, none of the queens are going to give them their points first, if they even give them any points at all.
Chappell Roan then enters the Werk Room and I find out that Lydia opened for her during her tour! I do think that might just play a part in the critiques later but let’s see! There’s also some teasing about Chappell being a Colby daughter and it’s funny how she literally is a Colby now.
We also get a little bit of insight into Kerri Colby’s biological family, because apparently her birth mother still misgenders her up to this day. It’s her chosen family that has really built her up today and hopefully she doesn’t lose that!
And after that bittersweet moment we get another fight between Mistress and Tina, as Mistress tries to get under Tina’s skin by saying that she’s pissed that Mistress and Jorgeous also have two points. Which isn’t a lie! Tina said something to the same effect at the start of the episode!
The Maxi Challenge starts and you know what? Tina’s wasn’t half bad! The Mean Girls reference? I cackled.
NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA saying Jorgeous has been in Ross’ colon for the past year? I cackled again. I wish it was more on beat but I think it’s still okay. Lydia saying Kerri will always be the Tamar to Sasha’s Toni? I cackled again. Mistress was kinda disappointing for me but only because she had built herself up? I feel like if I wasn’t expecting anything, I would have been more impressed. Jorgeous and Kerri did okay, too. All in all, this did not turn out into a disaster like I expected!
After the actual rapping roast, we get the runway with the theme of “Little Shop of Whores” and I’d like to see that! Tina Burner is up first and…I don’t think we needed that thing about her mother? Cue Bianca del Rio making fun of queens with their sob stories on Drag Race. I definitely liked Jorgeous outfit more.
I thought NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA’s outfit was okay by itself and didn’t really need that Ruveal? Let’s see if the judges think the same during the critiques. I feel like Lydia’s outfit is too simple BUT if you look at it from the point of view that she needed editing during her original season, this look is a definite improvement.
Mistress’s look is also a departure from her usual looks, which I think the judges should note. HOWEVER, she is immediately overshadowed by Kerri Colby’s gorgeous Venus fly trap outfit. And the body? DAMN.
The critiques start and now I feel bad for thinking Tina shouldn’t have included that reference to her mother because it turns out her mother has dementia and doesn’t even remember her anymore. I am an asshole. Jorgeous, on the other hand, is complimented for her rap and her outfit so she might just be on the top this episode!
Meanwhile, NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA gets props for her performance and for her outfit before the Ruveal. I knew the judges wouldn’t get it! I was a little “huh?” with Michelle’s critique about Lydia’s rap having too many words but maybe I understood it better because there were subtitles? But Chappell could understand Lydia’s rap clearly so maybe it’s not just me.
Mistress gets praise from the judges and it’s at this point where I realize that the production won’t be putting Mistress and Jorgeous in the bottom because they want them to move forward and no one is giving them any points after the stunt they pulled.
Mistress and Jorgeous are obviously the top two queens and they’re going to lip sync to Chappell Roan’s “Hot To Go!” Jorgeous and Mistress both win and honestly the outcome for the third episode is determined. See you in the quarterfinals, Jorgeous and Mistress.
