Ron Watches RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 10 Episode 7

It’s the last and final bracket before we go to the semis! I was late posting the previous episode but I’m making sure I’m on time now. Let’s go!

The first one to step onto the runway is Denali, still in all-white and still looking gorgeous. And she’s still wearing those skates on stage! Also, because of Twitter, I can’t help but think of Ryan Agoncillo whenever she shows up in the confessionals.

Up next is Acid Betty, who has had a tumultuous time on and off Drag Race, to say the least. Her look stays true to her brand, is what I’ll say! Again, I’m not a fashion person so I don’t know how to articulate this properly but her look appears both elevated and the same? I don’t have the vocabulary to explain it properly!

We then get Alyssa Hunter, who has really leaned in to her Trade label from Season 14. And I don’t blame her! If the internet and the public already knows you for something and it’s not negative, fully lean into it!

After Alyssa in walks Cucu herself, Cynthia Lee Fontaine! Is this the Latin bracket? Isn’t Denali Latin as well? Anyways, Cynthia is looking for redemption on All Stars since she feels like her performance ability has been overlooked during her previous outings on the regular season.

Daya Betty is the next queen to enter and she looks great! Honestly, there’s not much I can say since she did so well in her original season and it just looks like she’s continued to improve on herself since then. When it’s right, it’s right!

Ginger Minj is back for her fourth outing and this look is certainly better than the glamor toad one. But I have the feeling that production won’t reward her this season and not allow her to proceed to the semis. But I could be wrong!

The queens get the now rote explanation about the points before learning about the Maxi Challenge — a Wicked For Good sewing challenge. They’ll be doing it in pairs, with one being the good witch and the other being the wicked witch, and the queens are given the freedom to choose their partner and determine which one of them is which witch. And all I’m doing is trying to remember which one of these queens can sew!

Once they’re in the Werk Room, it’s Daya and Alyssa who immediately give off frenemy vibes, with Alyssa being the “nice” one and Daya the “bitch”. Will they team up?

Meanwhile, Ginger is feeling a lot of pressure since she has been in the finale of Drag Race twice now and she is a strong competitor. The show doesn’t give us a hint who she’ll partner with, though, even if Alyssa does talk to her.

Another potential partnership is Acid Betty and Cynthia, as Cynthia shared that Acid supported her when she was being treated for liver cancer. But Acid Betty isn’t sure whether Cynthia will team up with her since Acid just feels like an outsider to everyone right now.

The queens finally gather round the table and it immediately becomes clear that whoever gets partnered with Ginger might not be on the top this week since she admits at the table and in the confessionals that it is not her strongest attribute.

One queen who is feeling great is Acid Betty, because most of the queens at the table express their desire to work with her. It’s actually Cynthia and Alyssa who do not get picked, first at least at the table. But the queens finally decide and the pairs are Acid Betty and Denali, Ginger Minj and Daya Betty, and Cynthia and Alyssa.

Cynthia and Alyssa feel like they are the underdogs of the season, and I kinda agree that the English-speaking queens left the two English as a Second Language queens behind. And I initially thought that this ~threat~ from Cynthia and Alyssa might be empty and they end up being the bottom queens but it’s looking like Acid and Denali aren’t working as well as they should be. Let’s see what happens!

Another group that may not be working as well as they thought is Daya and Ginger, as Ginger is overwhelmed by what Daya is doing and Daya didn’t expect Ginger to not be this bad at sewing. But like with Acid and Denali, let’s see how things actually turn out!

Before we get to see the queens’ final looks, we do get to see them meet Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande and Denali experiences what she describes as the “most homosexual moment” of her life. Ginger also experiences an emotional moment and I do not mean for this to be shady at all but it reminded me of Eureka freaking out over Lady Gaga. I’m sorry!

Ginger and Daya are up first and…okay. Daya was the better outfit, I guess, but Ginger’s wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. But with this first outing I’m realizing this isn’t going to be my type of challenge at all.

Now I’m not a fashion person, like I’ve said so many times before, but I liked Alyssa and Cynthia’s outfits more because they felt more magical? Daya and Ginger’s were a little too…normal. Maybe it was the colors of Daya and Ginger’s outfit that detracted from the overall fantasy.

Finally, Acid and Denali get on the stage and even though they went with the same fire and ice theme as Alyssa and Cynthia, I think it still turned out pretty well! And their story was better because it even got Cynthia and Ariana to crack a smile.

During the critiques, the queens actually get generally good ones, aside from Acid who got a little jab from Law Roach about draping. I can’t see what’s wrong with Acid’s outfit but then again I am not Law Roach and not a stylist!

And after a genuinely funny panel discussion, the two queens that end up on the top are Ginger and Daya, which I did not expect! I thought it was going to be Acid and Denali for sure! Anyways, Ginger and Daya are lip syncing to “Defying Gravity” and I think this is going to Ginger even before it starts. And she does win!
