Ron Watches My Golden Blood Episode 2

The first episode? So entertaining. It draws from a lot of properties that a lot of us may be familiar with but who cares? I really enjoyed how it maanged to still be so entertaining so let’s get into this second episode.

So where were we at the end of the first episode? In Mark’s home, where he’s sheltering Tong from Nakan and who knows how many other vampires because Tong’s precious fairy vagina golden blood just draws them all in.

At the start of this second episode, we get confirmation that the vampires in this universe can also walk around during the day. We also find out that Mark is some sort of vampire enforcer? I don’t know what the rules for vampires are in this show just yet but it seems like there are prohibitions against eating humans? And of course I should have just waited because it’s explained soon enough. The subsist on blood transfusions and are trying to come up with artificial blood.

But of course, there are vampires that aren’t exactly happy with this. There’s a power struggle within their ranks but so far, the ~vegetarian~ vampires are in control since their leader, Thara, is powerful. But not as powerful as the precious fairy vagina Golden Blood.

It’s not clear what the precious fairy vagina Golden Blood does, though. Other than being irresistible to vampires, what else can it do? Can Tong shoot fairy sparkles from his hands like Sookie does?

Anyways, they basically know Tong unconscious so he stays in Mark’s crash pad while Mark goes back to the hotel, where Nakan finds him cleaning up the broken glass and spilled Bloody Mary. Nakan’s surprised to find this is Mark’s room, which is surprising to me because why didn’t you just ask the concierge or whatever? Since it seems like you own the place? Also it is a great choice to have Nakan speaking in English. I don’t know how it comes across to Thai viewers but to me he sounds like a wannabee who’s trying desperately to be cool.

We also find out that Thara has visions! Will we get a rundown on what the vampires’ powers are or are they going to manifest when the plot needs it? What are the limitations? Is it going to be like Twilight where each vampire has a power unique to them? We do find out that their powers deteriorate, or at least that’s what Thara says is happening. Would drinking human blood help recharge those powers?

Thara reminds Mark that her vision saw him leading the family after her, and that his healing powers will allow them to peacefully coexist with humans. I thought that was just the result of him drinking Tong’s blood but it looks like it’s unique to Mark! Thara also says that the mission to protect the precious fairy vagina Golden Blood will end soon so will something happen to Tong when he reaches a certain age? He’s 20 now, so what else are we waiting for?

And it looks like we’re waiting for Tong to reach 21, because Mark tells him so the next morning at the crash pad. Until then, Tong will be under Mark’s protection. Which I wouldn’t object to! But I also start thinking about Tonkla because isn’t he wondering where Tong is? He hasn’t been home for hours now!

We get a few comedic scenes of Tong trying to run away from Mark and it’s cute! Wish they had better background music but I think that’s a thing with all GMMTV productions. Oh well. Anyways, they get back to Tong’s apartment and since Mark isn’t allowed inside since he’s not a student — the apartment is student accommodation, apparently — Tong tells Tonkla everything that happened last night and Tonkla, understandably, isn’t buying it.

Tonkla then leaves for work — again — and now Tong is researching ways to deal with a vampire. He gets Western ways to deal with a vampire but I do wish that they went with a Thai equivalent or something? I don’t know enough about Thai folklore to know if there is an equivalent but if there is it would be interesting to see how Thai people keep them away. Although it was funny to see Tong put garlic bread on his bed since I’m assuming there wasn’t actual garclic around.

Tong takes a shower and we don’t get that gratuitous K-drama shower scene but we do get to see him walk out in a towel and see Mark waiting for him in the room because their balcony door was left open. And I agree with Mark, forget about vampires, worry about thieves getting in! A little more comedy as Tong tries to use the chopstick cross and garlic bread on Mark before his towel falls off.

I guess he likes what he sees!

Mark tells Tong that every myth about vampires isn’t true and just propaganda that the human race fell for. It’s all so vampires can more freely among humans since the humans wouldn’t be expecting that. They do retain that Anne Rice thing where the vampires can eat and drink normal people food, it’s just that it doesn’t taste like anything. BUT it would seem like Tong has a specific smell that only Mark is aware of. Are we going to turn this into an A/B/O fic? Will there be scenting? Let’s not mix mythical monsters here!

I don’t know if it’s a delaying tactic on Tong’s part but he asks Mark if he can play the guitar before they leave and wouldn’t you know it, the guitar string snaps and Tong ends up bleeding. Gotta say that guitar string snapping was pretty dramatic and I don’t think it would normally cause someone to bleed but I understand it’s for the drama.

Tong tries to report everything to the police but did he really expect them to believe he got abducted by a vampire? One officer does seem like he believes him but I think he’ll turn out to be part of Nakan’s group or something.

Back at the student apartments, Thara tells Mark that the precious fairy vagina Golden Blood must be powerful indeed if even someone like him can lose control because of it. She tells him that she’s thinking about changing the protector of the precious fairy vagina Golden Blood but Mark pleads for another chance.

Back at the police headquarters, the sympathetic policeman does turn out to be a vampire. He doesn’t seem like he’s aligned with Nakan and he doesn’t seem particularly powerful either. Just when he’s about to eat Tong, Mark steps in, so I gues Thara kept him as the protector of the precious fairy vagina Golden Blood! Mark gets shot and thrown around a few times but eventually succeds, but at what cost? Seems like gunshots can harm a vampire in this universe.

Tong offers his precious fairy vagina Golden Blood to Mark, but Mark refuses, saying he’d rather die. BUT it turns out that even Tong’s tears are just as effective at healing him so does that mean any liquid coming out of Tong is gonna work? Any liquid? Like Mark can drink something else that isn’t blood?
