So, the last episode saw Ginger Minj win the lip sync, which I thought was fair, but apparently the internet thinks otherwise! Now let’s see how that win was received by the actual queens competing in this new episode!
The queens who weren’t in the top head back to the Werk Room and Daya is already hoping that either Cynthia or Alyssa are going to give her their points. Denali, the one the internet is crying has been robbed, is actually so gracious about what happened and is content with being in the conversation when it comes to the season finale. However, Alyssa is not as chill as Denali, saying that she thought it would be Denali who would win the lip sync rather than Ginger.
When it comes to handing out the points, Daya and Cynthia hand out their points to each other, and then Acid and Alyssa also give their points to Cynthia, propelling her about Denali and Daya. I am gooped and kinda laughing at Daya’s frustration expressed at the confessionals. She was equally gooped and now has her sights set on Alyssa, who she thought would give her the points.
The next day at the Werk Room, Ginger is upfront about her feelings being hurt because some of the other queens — camera zooms in on Alyssa rolling her eyes the GAGGERY — said she maybe didn’t deserve the win. And to Alyssa’s credit, she said it right to Ginger’s face and she’s not sorry about it. And then Daya gets her little jab in saying that Alyssa giving her point to Cynthia is a little hypocritical. It gets a little heated but I just want to tell Daya that you’re lucky you weren’t in Mistress’ bracket.
The fight is finally broken up by the RuMail, and Ru tells them that this week’s Maxi Challenge is an improve challenge — The Golden Bitchelor. Now, who is going to be the Milk in this challenge is what I’m interested in.
The pairings are Acid Betty and Cynthia, Alyssa and Ginger, and Daya and Denali, who will be performing alongside Zane Philips, who unfortunately I do not know because I am barely surviving in late stage capitalism.
I really liked how Ginger told Alyssa that her confidence is not Alyssa’s problem, because that is true and really something I should remember myself when I’m feeling some kind of way about things. Over at Acid and Cynthia’s table, Cynthia is thinking of going with a Catholic Chihuahua and I don’t know how that’s going to turn out but that does make sense in my head? Mexico’s a pretty Catholic country, right? Meanwhile, Daya and Denali are 50/50. Denali’s much more confident about her improv abilities compared to Daya.
The challenge starts and oh god I don’t know how to feel about that opening scene. Daya, Alyssa, and Denali are first up and I think Denali had the best performance out of the three? And while I did not know who Zane Philips was before but I do wanna know him now because WOOF.
Ginger, Acid, and Cynthia are up next and I really liked Ginger and Acid’s takes but also…Zane sitting down immediately after Acid told him to? I mean…. My goodness I am so easy I kinda hate myself for it.
The double dates happen and…well, they happen. I’m sorry, I didn’t find any of the pairings funny! Not even Ginger! The next day, everyone thinks they did okay and…well, okay! Happy for everyone! But I really don’t know which one of them is going to be at the top.
Daya and Alyssa also have a discussion about who they’re giving their points too and I truly think that this is just a misunderstanding that didn’t need to be blown up this big. But then again, I don’t know how heightened emotions are in situations like this one so they might be thinking that this is all normal in the moment.
The runway theme this time around is Paper Dolls and I really liked Alyssa, Denali, and Acid’s looks. And yet, I don’t think any of them really topped Kim Chi’s paper look from her season. Having said that, Michelle, come on now. That wasn’t a Marie Antoinette look, Ginger was clearly referencing Elizabeth I. I’m a fashion illiterate and even I know that.
After the critiques, it’s Ginger and Daya who emerge at the top and its Daya Betty who wins the lip sync We’ve got our first two to head to the next phase!
The bottom queens are then asked to give their points and Cynthia and Denali give their points to Alyssa and Acid, respectively. Alyssa gives her point to Denali, tying her with Cynthia, and since Acid already said she didn’t expect Denali to give her the point, I think Acid is going to give her point to Alyssa. The Denali fans are going to be pissed. And I’m right, Acid did give it to Cynthia!
