Blush Books acquires Chi Yu Rodriguez’s No Two Ways

Komiket’s Blush Books acquires Chi Yu Rodriguez’s No Two Ways. Just to recap, Komiket’s Blush Books is an imprint co-founded by Mina V. Esguerra and Paolo Herras. No Two Ways follows the acquisition of Kiss Away the Goodbye by Blush Books.

There’s no exact date for the launch just yet, but it will be at the Manila International Book Fair this September. Check out the Romance Class Book blog for more details!

Stories We Tell When We Tell Stories About Ourselves pre-orders

If you’ve always been interested in Philippine cinema, Ateneo University Press’ upcoming release, Stories We Tell When We Tell Stories About Ourselves, might be something you’d like.

According to Alvin Yapan, the book “articulates how Filipino cinema has become an integral part of our everyday life, helping shape our concepts of self and nation” and that it makes philosophical concepts like loob and ginhawa “more accessible and resonant for those of us seeking ways to heal, both socially and personally.”

The Guardian story on AI audiobook narration

AI continues to be a talking point in the publishing industry. Last week, two rulings were put out that sided with Big Tech. With the May announcement from Audible that it will allow its authors to choose AI audiobook narrators. The Guardian spoke to Australian audiobook narrators for a really eye-catchin article titled “‘AI doesn’t know what an orgasm sounds like’: audiobook actors grapple with the rise of robot narrators”.
