It’s the season finale! Let’s get into it!
The previous episode saw Mistress go home, and since we were left with a cliffhanger in the previous episode, the first thing we want to find out in this final episode is who the returning wild card is — and it’s not the first thing we see.
The queens are returning to the Werk Room and while Lydia is sad to send her drag mother home, she’s also incredibly proud of what she’s accomplished. She gets congratulated for this, while Bosco also gets congratulations for winning the episode.
The queens do keep on talking about Mistress while in the Werk Room, which just tells me that it’s going to be her walking back through that door since she’s the wild card picked. But we don’t find out about it just yet because we just see the queens de-drag. The queens are all confident about their chances, but I think the people who really do have a chance — since it’s going to be a lip sync smackdown — are Aja and Jorgeous. But let’s see what happens!
The next day in the Werk Room, we hear a door bell and in walks…Kerri Colby! Well, there were two balls with Kerri’s name on it, so statistically she had a better chance, but you never know! Because it would have been gaggy for Mistress to walk in despite the odds being against her.
Ru walks in and announces that the first thing the queens are going to do is Rate-A-Queen, with the final results affecting who they’re going to go up against in the lip sync smackdown. I’m guessing that what’s going to happen is that the stronger lip sync queens are going to take each other out and we end up with a whimper of a final lip sync, but let’s hope for the best!
It’s hard to figure out which of the queens are going to end up at the top of Rate-A-Queen because production is going to edit it to make it look like there’s no clear top, so I kind of just let the queens voices wash over me like ASMR or something.
When they finally go onto the Main Stage, we find out that it’s going to be a seeded bracket where first place goes against last, second against seventh, so on and so forth. The queen the other queens voted as the top seed is…Ginger? Who is going to go up against Kerri. They’re the first up, and it’s Ginger who gets to pick the song. She picks “Disease” by Lady Gaga, which I normally don’t see for her but let’s see what she brings to the stage!
The lip sync starts and while there were no standout moments for me, I do think that Ginger delivered a tried and tested formula. The judges seem to agree, and she moves on to the next bracket.
Up next is Lydia against Irene, who in the confessionals reveals that she knew this was going to happen, which is why she ranked Lydia higher because she thinks she can go up against her in a lip sync. Lydia gets to pick the song, and she chooses “Joy Ride” by Kesha.
The lip sync starts and I think Irene immediately handicaps herself by starting from the back. Lydia immediately gets a head start when it comes to grabbing attention and in my opinion, Irene barely catches up. And Lydia wins! She’s now a top four queen!
The next match up is Jorgeous versus Aja and this is going to be the lip sync. Or at least that’s what I expect. Jorgeous gets to pick the song and she picks “Party Life” by Natalie Cole.
The lip sync starts and while it is energetic…it doesn’t have that oomph that Sasha Colby and Anetra’s match-up did back in Season 15.
Jorgeous wins the round, which I kinda expected when she did that jump that BTS does during “Idol”. You guys know what it is, if you’re ARMY. It’s going to be her against Lydia in the top four and I am already saying goodbye to Lydia.
The final match-up is Daya against Bosco and Daya is already crying before they even get to pick a song. So I’m guessing it’s her going home next! Bosco picks “Show me How You Burlesque” by Christina Aguilera and I gotta say, they’re the ones who actually end up being the Anetra and Sasha Colby lip sync. Bosco with her tits out was mesmerizing but Daya definitely had more energy and didn’t look hampered by all the ~accoutrements~ like Bosco did with everything she had on her body. Which actually wasn’t a lot, but what she had on looked heavy! But it’s still Bosco who prevails.
Bosco doesn’t get to rest as she goes up against Ginger immediately, with Ginger getting to pick the song. She picks P!nk’s “Raise Your Glass” and I gotta say it. I love P!nk.
Ginger wins and I can already hear the Twitter outrage. And to be fair, I really thought Bosco had a chance of winning it, but Ginger does really embody a song even if she doesn’t do tricks. But Bosco did give her a run for her money!
Jorgeous and Lydia are up next and their lip sync song is Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever”, which you would think is a Jorgeous sure win but apparently, Lydia’s a Shakira super fan. But I really think Jorgeous has this in the bag, and I’m correct! It’s going to be a Jorgeous and Ginger lip sync for the crown!
Before the final lip sync, we find out tha the runner-up gets a $25,000 cash tip. Okay sure! The final lip sync song is “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls and this is just the type of song that Ginger excels at, where she can fully utilize her comedy.
Angeria’s back to crown this season’s winner and it is…Ginger! Oh the internet is going to be mad. But I thought she really deserves this!
