Okay guys, I’m sorry this is so late, but I wasn’t feeling the past couple of day and literally just spent it curled up in my bed, coughing, and wiping snot in what feels like wads and wads and wads of tissues. But I’m feeling better now so let’s go!
Some might consider it a shock elimination, but Soa going home in the previous episode was pretty clearly telegraphed, at least to me. Who’s the queen going home this time around? Let’s find out! Or more accurately, let me find out because everybody else knows who got eliminated at this point.
The queens are beat once they return to the Werk Room after Soa’s elimination. But they do have enough energy to congratulate Misty on her win and Punani on her high placement. Piche and Mami also declare that they’re going for the wins now, which will either happen or they both end up in the bottom in this episode. You guys tell me!
With the talent show, ball, and Snatch Game done, the queens are wondering which challenge they’re going to face next. Mami, Elips, and Misty are also enjoying being part of then 2,500 club, since they’re currently the only ones with badges.
From the Nicky Mail, the queens guess that today’s Maxi Challenge is either going to be a Rusical or a girl group challenge. Moon isn’t feeling the challenge because she admits that she does not have the best singing voice.
The mini challenge is that thing where the queens give each other labels that I can’t even remember when it became a thing. But that! The results that interested me were Elips being the trade of the season and Punani getting the label of “Why are you here?” The shade of it all.
With the mini challenge out of the way, Nicky tells the queens that this week is the Girl Group challenge and since Moon got the most “correct” answers, she gets to pick the members of her group. Punani also gets to be the leader of the other group, since she got the shadiest title out of the bunch.
After the queens pick their teammates, the groupings are: Moon, Misty, Mami, and Bertha as one team, and Punani, Piche, Elips, and Kam as the other team. Moon’s team’s name is NTR, which is an acronym for “Fuck Your Queen” in French, although what I was reminded of is a Japanese term, if you know you know.

Over at Punani’s team, it’s Punani and Piche who are taking the lead and Piche sees it as a way to repay the guys who helped him out during the Ball. However, the group still hasn’t come up with a name for their team, which I don’t know if that bodes well for them or not.
NTR starts recording with Yelle and honestly? Other than Mami, they seemed to do very well. Supernova, on the other hand, looks like it’s going to have trouble with Elips and Kam. It could all be just editing to throw the audience off, of course, but with the same concerns about the Supernovas being raised during choreography practice, I think it would be safe to bet that it’s their group in the bottom.
The Werk Room discussion this episode is about plastic surgery, since it’s this weel’s runway theme, and Piche says that while people think he’s conventionally attractive, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his own hang ups about his body, which is why he had some work done on his face. We also hear about how the work got botched — or at least there were some unforseen complications — and Piche had to get fillers removed. As someone who isn’t afraid of surgery but isn’t looking forward to needing it, it was harrowing to listen to.
There’s also the perspective of Kam and Misty, with Misty in particular alarming Piche and the other queens because she says she hates her body and she wants to transform herself entirely and look like Jocelyn Wildenstein, because I don’t think she meant Selina Kyle when she said she wanted to look like Catwoman.
The runway starts and while I was struck by Moon’s drag king look, it’s Piche’s formaldehyde look that really leaves a mark. Unfortunately for all the queens that follow after her, it’s the only thing in my mind. That look was great. It doesn’t mean the other looks weren’t great because they were — Big Bertha’s and Mami’s especially — but Piche’s formaldehyde look, for me, just really pissed all over that stage.
NTR is up first for the performane and while I like it, it didn’t exactly sound hip hop to me? Not that I’m a hip hop phile or anything but they said during the walkthrough that hip hop was where they were taking inspiration from. But maybe actual an hip hop phile can explain.
When it’s time for the Supernovas to perform, the actual song doesn’t seem to be different? And by that I mean it doesn’t even seem like it’s a different style? Which wouldn’t have been an issue to me because other franchises sing to the same beat/style/whatever during the girl group challenge, but I was just led to believe that it would be two different songs. Also, Kam and Punani were especially obvious when it comes to the mistakes in the song, which I can’t say the same for NTR. Pretty sure someone who’s actually a performer can spot mistakes with the NTR performance as well, but Kam and Punani’s mistakes were noticeable even to me, a layperson.
Elips and Bertha are pronounced safe. And from the rest of the critiques, it looks like Mami, Moon, and Piche are going to be the top queens, with Misty, Punani, and Kam in the bottom. It’s Mami and Piche who are named the top two queens, while Punani and Kam are in the bottom. Fair placements!
Mami and Piche go at it and it was a fun watch! If this was an elimination lip sync, this would have been a double shantay. But it’s not, so Mami is named the winner…and she sends Punani home! Well, at least Piche and Punani’s friendship is preserved!
