I’ve been trying to find shows that I can catch right from the beginning as it airs, and wouldn’t you know it, the algorithm served me the trailer for this I think several weeks ago? While I couldn’t watch it the exact time it premiered — can’t stay up that late anymore — I can catch up a few hours later. Let’s dive in!
We start off with one guy sneaking out of a house with the help of another guy, who apparently is just lugging around one of those bamboo ladders that you always find in the provinces. I’m guessing this is going to be the main pairing? They’re off with what appears to be the other guy’s dad, and they’re named Win and Nut, with Win having the ~cool dad~ and Nut the one who has to sneak out.
The two of them are sneaking out to watch a band, and it’s only now in my decrepit state that I appreciate how relatively chill my parents were when it came to me watching bands and stuff. Granted, I didn’t go to a lot when I was younger, but it’s not because they didn’t allow me to do it. I just wasn’t interested! But the few times I expressed interest they were cool with it.
We then get a flashback of them in…high school? I’m going to say high school. Win works for what I assume is a washed-out musician who rents out practice rooms, and he seems pretty much like the golden retriever in this situation. He runs into Nut again, and this has got to be in the 90s or something because Nut is looking at cassette tapes. I was around when those things were the main way one listened to an album! I witnessed the shift to CDs happen!
ANYWAYS, Win is trying to convince Nut to ride his bike. but Nut is not having any of it and Wind ends up crashing. So Nut has to put a bandage on Win’s knee and my golly, we’re touching legs already? Win really wants Nut to nut ride his bike though.
Even late at night, Win is still thinking about Nut‘s nut and smiling at his bandaged knee and I’m like…you just met him hours ago. Chill!
But I guess Win’s got that intuition or something because Nut is back the next day. This time around, he manages to convince Nut to get in the studio with him by telling him there’s a phallic object Gibson guitar waiting for him. Win tells him he can play with the phallic object Gibson for free since no one else is using it.
Then we get a musical number! This is still a Thai BL, after all. Win accompanies Nut’s guitar playing with the piano, and I guess this is where they develop feelings beyond friendship for each other. Or at least this is where it starts. Nut even suggests that they start a band!
They do start a band, and I’m wondering if this is an actual band in real life? The way Lykn plays Mars in ThamePo? Anyways, of course there’s going to be a girl “manager” and of course Win is feeling a little jealous. Which he should, because she’s got endowments he’ll never possess! His jealousy culminates with him trying to stop an ice cream shop date between Nut and Lin — the girl “manager” — by saying that they have music stuff to discuss, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s the two of them who end up going to the ice cream shop. I see what you did there, you sneaky homosexual.
Win is down bad because he even remembers Nut’s nut ice cream order and when he can’t think of any music stuff to talk to Nut about, Nut says if he wasn’t his friend, he would think Win was jealous of him and Lin. But he is jealous, Nut. He is! Win then asks Nut what he thinks of him and Nut tries to go to the toilet to avoid answering the question but then he staggers a bit as he stands up. Okay, I know that the synopsis already says that Win “loses” Nut, but I am clinging to hope that this is somehow fixed by Win’s time traveling.
The band is preparing for a competition and now there’s a new girl? Who’s here to ask what their biggest dream as a band is? Couldn’t Lin have done this part? Nothing against the new girl, though! Nut says he just wants to win the competition and keep playing with the guys, which is a pretty teenager thing to say. As a chronic worrier and overthinker, I wish I could just plant my mind in the present and enjoy things as they happen.
Win gays it up a little with his answer, though, saying that his dream is to make Nut nut achieve his dreams. The heterosexuals in the band think he’s joking, and Win tries to cover up that answer with another one, but it looks like Nut really nutted took it seriously.

There’s a lot of talk about dying young with the other band members, whic tells me that maybe they get into an accident? It’s not going to be a sickness, maybe? Maybe there’s a chance to reverse it? Let’s hope! Because I swear to Galadriel if one of these Thai homos die at the end I am going to be very disappointed.
The day of the competition arrives and Nut faints on stage? Turns out Nut does have an illness. Exactly what kind of it illness it is, we don’t immediately find out, but Nut is more worried about winning the competition anyway. Will we eventually get to find out? Anyway Nut dies, the end. I thought this was going to happen when they were a little older!
Win starts reading Nut’s diary and we find out that he’s been having dizzy spells since 1998. Which we also find out is the year this is set in. So he got sick and died within the year of their friendship? I’m fuzzy on the timeline. Also he wanted to go on a shirtless camping trip with the guys? Or is that a mistranslation. I don’t speak Thai! We also find out that Win wanted to tell Lin that he loves her AND I SWEAR TO GOD IF THIS TURNS OUT HETEROSEXUAL.
Wait so the sneaking out thing is before we find out Nut is sick and he dies? Anyways, Win tells Nut’s nut cremains that he’ll do his best to hold a big concert and have a seat saved for him. Win promises he’s going to be a famous singer, but when we jump into the future, he’s ended up as an office worker who is definitely not famous or satisfied with what he’s doing. He’s sitting bored in meetings and my god do I know the feeling. He even got fired!
It’s not any better when he gets home because his landlady is telling him to leave the room if he’s not going to pay the rent. His brother won’t loan him some money, and my goodness, Win! This is like a decades-long grieving process. I know there’s no timeline for grief but damn. And then we find out his father’s been dead for almost a decade now as well. Jesus Christ.
Win visits Nut’s cremains after several years and we find out that same-sex marriage is legal in-universe! So this current timeline is in 2025 Thailand. He tells Nut that if he’d had the courage to tell him that he likes him and if Nut liked him back, could they have possibly been married by now?
Lin then shows up and not only has she been seeing Nut regularly, it also looks like she’s more successful than Win. Homophobia from the production! Lin then drops a bombshell: Nut talked more about Win when he was still alive. She was jealous of Win. She also asks if Nut was still here, would she and Nut have ended up married? Nut’s nut pretty popular!
As Win’s going back home, he gets into a car accident because of trying to reach his phone, and then he wakes up back in 1998. There’s a pretty cute sequence where he’s running around in bright yellow shorts, and then we get back to him trying to figure out what’s going on. It’s before Nut comes on him into his life, so he at least can prepare before his arrival.
I don’t know if I’m misunderstanding this, but I think Nut goes to a different school? Should have noticed they had different colored shorts. Anyways, he goes charging into a different school — wait so why was he waiting for Nut at his school? — and he finds Nut playing with his phallic object guitar. Then he tells him flat out that he likes him. Bitch, you haven’t even met yet! You’re gonna look like a stalker!
