Ron Watches Rearrange the Series Episode 4

The previous episode had me more interested with the show’s secondary couple, so let’s see if the main couple in this show manages to wrest the attention away from them. Let’s go!

A confrontation was definitely brewing by the end of the previous episode, with Lin and Nut’s dad making an appearance at the gig that Aek’s rich parents managed to snag for them.

We don’t immediately see that confrontation, however, since the show opens with a flashback to Nut working on the song that they’ve been singing since the first episode. We find out that Nut and Lin’s families seem like they’re friends, so the connection between the two of them is at least older and stronger than between Win and Nut. Lin’s also the first one to really encourage Nut’s dream to be a musician. It’s going to be an uphill battle for Win to win Nut’s nut affections.

We then head back to the present-ish time, or the current timeline where Win is. The dad from Love of Siam doesn’t look very happy that Nut’s playing in the band, but he at least doesn’t make a scene and instead confronts Aek’s rich parents and tells them that indulging these “useless things”. It’s then implied that Nut’s dad used to be a musician himself, and that all of this may just be him acting out because his own musical dreams never took off, or he had to give it up for more practical things.

Meanwhile, Nut himself is catching up with Lin, who he introduces to the band and Chai is immediately flirting with her. Bisexual king! And from the looks of it, Aek doesn’t seem to mind the flirting. Polyamorous king!

Lin’s arrival kinda throws Win’s plan off. I say kinda because letting Nut spend more time with Lin is also part of Win’s checklist. How’s that going to work with Win’s personal goal of getting Nut’s nut attention? Let’s see if the show can pull it off.

Over at Nut’s home, his dad is telling him to think of ~the company~ rather than his dreams, and Nut tells him that he hasn’t agreed to be a slave to capitalism like him. It would have probably turned violent like in episode two, but Lin and her family arrive and that stops that from happening. Lin also gifts Nut with a guitar pick, which Nut’s dad can’t outwardly object to, since it seems like he wants to play matchmaker to these two. Lin is also all praises for Nut’s music, and Nut’s dad can’t do anything but smile and nod.

Nut’s good mood survives until the next band pratice, where he shares that Lin’s appearance has saved his skin and allowed him to continue being with the band. Not only that, Lin also saved the band’s video camera, which Biu left at the event, but Lin was smart enough to set aside. Nut even suggests Lin as an extra band manager since Biu has to balance her time with the photography club. Win really does face an uphill challenge supplanting Lin.

When Lin asks Nut to go with her to the Alangkarn concert, Win steps in and tells Nut that he has something ~important~ to talk to him about, but we don’t see what they talk about just yet. Which is all fine with me because the scene then transitions to Aek waiting for his ride home and Chai offers to bring Aek home instead. Ohhhh yeeeaahhhh.

Unfortunately, we get back to the main couple, who are in a restaurant and Win is feeding Nut food. If this is your idea of saving him from death, it’s not very effective. It’s also the same ruse he used back in episode one, so are you really serious about saving Nut’s nut life? This is pretty lazy work. He doesn’t even pounce at the openings that Nut is providing him. Are we really committed to saving his life or what? Or even committed to saying how you feel?

We finally get back to Chai and Aek, who take a detour to have some mu kratha. It’s all very Rough Trade x Rich Kid dynamic and I am into it. Aek tells Chai that he used to be shy and couldn’t look people in the eye, so Chai asks Aek to look him in the eye and it’s Chai who looks away first. Oh, Aek is a power bottom and Chai is a service top.

Aek’s definitely gonna be bouncing on this.

We then get to see Lin and Bui walking in the rain and are we going to get lesbianism? Is this show going to give us everything we want? Or maybe it was just a moment for Biu to realize that maybe Win wasn’t lying when he said he was from the future, because I think she remembers Win saying the name of the new Alankarn song before one of the members spoiled it.

ANYWAYS. Back to Win and Nut. It’s raining, and rather than wait inside the restaurant, Nut decides to run out in the rain, with Win chasing right after him. It’s cute and Nut even promises Win that he’ll be the first one to know if he ever feels unwell or faints again.

The next day, Chai is looking for the hat he promised he would give Aek, while Nut is at school with the packed lunch Win made for him. There’s also a bit where Win convinces the rocker he works for to not go on a trip with his girlfriend, and I don’t know what that’s for. Is it really so they could go to the Alankarn concert together?

After band practice, Bui corners Win and tells him that she already knows that he likes Nut. She also asks him why he isn’t flirting with him, and thank goodness for that because Win definitely isn’t making any progress on his own. And just to make that very clear, the show has Lin outmaneuver Win and get Nut tickets and his dad’s permission to watch the Alankarn concert with her. We then get to see that Win has made a change to the timeline. This was the same concert from the first episode, except this time he and Nut aren’t watching it together.

But there are other things the show reveals as well: Win’s rocker boss getting into an accident, Chai getting arrested. What the hell is going on?
