Ron Watches Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale Episode 6

We had a bittersweet milestone in the previous episode as we saw Bernie become the first Filipino queen sent home. Are there more Filipina queens going home this time around? Let’s see!

Brigiding is feeling pretty good about herself as they return to the Werk Room, especially since she won, after all. Arizona, on the other hand, is wrecked by Bernie’s departure. It really does seem that they got close right after their season! Suki also reveals that she chose Bernie to go home, so it really was Diday’s time to go.

With all that out of the way, Yuhua declares in the confessionals that it’s her time to win next week, which will either come true, or she’ll be the one going home at the end of the episode. The storyline’s already being set!

Back in the Werk Room next day, the conversation starts with game plans for this coming week and then…takes a left turn, I guess? Like Suki Doll said in the confessional, Siam goes off, it’s just unclear which planet she’s going off to. Viñas was literally scared, and I gotta admit that I fast forwarded a bit because I felt uncomfortable too. I hope it’s just a translation issue or something. Like Siam doesn’t know the right English words?

Anyways, Mama Pao walks in and says that the mini challenge is going to be Rate A Queen, with Viñas Deluxe getting the top position. Like Arizona pointed out, Viñas is the frontrunner, with the most badges among them. Aside from the cash tip, Viñas also gets an extra minute in the Snatch Election Maxi Challenge, where they make funny campaign videos as a celebrity. Kinda like that Season 8 challenge!

I think this is a great way to sorta do Snatch Game, because with the queens English not being at the same levels with each other, interacting during Snatch Game might be difficult. If they suck in these videos, at least they can only blame themselves.

Viñas also gets to deduct a minute from another queen, and she is quick to mention Siam. I guess she really was scared by Siam’s outburst!

As the queens start working on their scripts, Brigiding expresses some trepidation, especially since she didn’t exactly do all that well during her Snatch Game back in season 1. And to be fair, I think the only good Snatch Game from Drag Race Philippines was during season 3.

During the walkthrough, Siam says she’ll be doing Lisa’s character from The White Lotus, and since I haven’t watched any season of that show, I don’t know if that’s a good or bad decision. Khianna is doing Mommy Oni, and I don’t know if this was filmed before or after the “This is a fine dining restaurant” meme, but I hope that gets incorporated somehow.

Viñas shares she’s going to do Sara Duterte and I really want to know when they filmed this because depending on the timeframe, Viñas could have a lot of material to work with. Sukie Doll, on the other hand, is doing Lyn May, who I don’t know anything about, but the picture they provided of her makes me think that if done right, she’s going to be a hoot. Arizona is doing Lyn from Las Vegas Models, while Brigiding is doing Maria Ressa, who I met a long time ago! Yes, I gotta say that. Yuhua is doing Anna Delvey, and I hope she does well!

And it’s at this point in the show that it gets glitchy? Like literally. Was it just me or did anybody else experience it? Anyways, from here on out, there’s no sound and the subtitles are a bit late. The result of Rate A Queen is left on the Werk Room table, and after a few minutes? Seconds? The sound returns but it’s not synched. Siam finds out that she’s ranked last, which results in tears from her. Viñas doesn’t want to deal with it and everything else is still not synced.

Things finally sync up when Khianna starts crying, because she feels like she’s really underperforming in this season. It’s a valid feeling, especially since people had such high expectations from her coming from a great run in Drag Race Philippines season 3.

But the more exciting thing for me as someone who live for drama that does not involve me is Viñas dislike for Siam. She thinks Siam’s just being a drama queen, and ~alleges~ that Siam told her that there’s a reason why she’s here and that Viñas will find out why. Honestly? I think this is just a miscommunication, because like I said, not everybody’s English is on the same level and what some people think they’re saying might not be received in the way the wanted it received.

And then we also find out that somebody tried to hex Viñas before? I think kulam says it better, but hex is probably the thing that international audiences will understand. I’ve seen some stuff as a kid when I was in Marinduque, and while I may not be a full believer of things like that, I’m not going to tempt fate, you know what I mean?

They start shooting the videos, and while I don’t usually trust these because they can just intentionally play up bad parts of the shoot for some tension, I felt more than a little apprehension with Siam’s version of Lisa.

I wouldn’t call myself a Blink but girl. The Blinks might(?) eat you alive?

What is her fascination with that humungous breast plate anyway? She’s used it multiple times and not always to the best effect.

The runway theme this episode is mythical creatures, and I am sorry but Viñas fucking topped her manananggal runway from her season. Nuno sa Feng Shui? BITCH I WAS AS GOOPED AND GAGGED AS THE JUDGING PANEL.

After being GOOPED and GAGGED by Viñas, we get the videos, with Arizona up first. I laughed at her video, and I honestly didn’t expect I would! Or maybe it’s just excess goodwill from Viñas’ runway.

Siam is up next and…well, it’s a video. We then get Brigiding’s Maria Ressa video and I don’t know if she’s going to like it but I thought it was hilarious. Suki’s was…okay? But I didn’t really get the references because I don’t really know who Lyn May is.

We finally get Khianna’s video and it does appear that this was shot during the whole fine dining thing, but I don’t think Khianna used it well. That’s life, I guess. I also didn’t quite get Yuhua’s video, but maybe because I don’t really know Anna Delvey other than what I read from social media. Viñas’ video could have been funnier, but she’s not going to be in the bottom because that look.

Arizona and Suki are declared safe, while Yuhua, Brigiding, and Viñas are the top three queens. It’s another international queen and a Filipino queen in the bottom, and I already know that Siam is going home because the storyline just points towards it.

ANNDDDDDD maybe that’s not going to happen! Khianna pretty much breaks down in the Werk Room after critiques and flat out says that she wants to go home, and that she’s so tired. Once again, valid feelings! Especially because this was probably filmed straight after season 3, I think?

The lip sync is to a song by Nation’s Girl Group Bini, and I think the queens are evenly matched for once! It’s Yuhua whose declared the winner, and now who will she send home? She’s already said that neither of the two impressed her back in the Werk Room. But as the storyline laid down in beginning foreshadowed, it’s Siam Phusri who goes home.
