Ron Watches Rearrange the Series Episode 8

What, an update that isn’t that late? Oh my oh my. Let’s get into this episode!

As we saw in the previous episode, things aren’t looking good for the band. Aek’s parents don’t want them practicing in the house anymore after Aek ends up in the hospital after getting hit in a fight involving Chai and his gang. Win and Biu aren’t talking because Win didn’t tell Biu that Lin and Nut are dating, and Nut’s about to die. For some reason, the “Chad about to die” meme is what sprung to mind.

With his father threatening to break another of his guitars if he goes out to meet the band, Nut stays in his room instead, playing his guitar and imagining. Which he won’t be able to do the moment he dies from his tumor. Are we forgetting that? Is this going to end with him dying?

Back at his house, Win is consoled by his father, who tries to cheer him up by playing the Family Computer with him. Remember the Family Computer? Because I do. I was there when the deep magic was written. Anyways, that bit of quality time gets Win emotional, because in the original timeline, he took his father for granted and his father died.

Back at school, Win is still getting the cold shoulder from Biu, and his attempts to reconcile only make things worse. Biu says that if they were friends in the original timeline, that’s going to change now, because she’s never going to talk to him again after she embarrassed herself in front of Lin.

Outside school, Lin talks to Biu and admits that she’s a lying sack of shit because she and Nut aren’t really dating. She got rejected in the previous episode! Biu, girl, honey, this is not who you want for a first relationship. Date the fucked up ones later in life!

To Biu’s credit, she heads on over to Win’s place and apologizes, and also tells him that Lin and Nut aren’t actually dating. Win still has a chance with Nut‘s nut! It’s not much of a chance though, if Nut’s going to end up dying anyway.

And that looks like it’s still going to happen, because when Nut’s dad threatens his guitar again, Nut stands up to his dad since he’s going to die anyway. He even tells his dad this! Although not the specific part that he’s going to die soon because of a brain tumor. His dad might just be thinking that Nut meant death in that we all die anyway.

Back at Win’s house, he admits that things still happen the way they did in the original timeline, even if he’s tried to change it. I’m guessing this is when his boss gets into an accident in episode 4? Then if you’re resigned to things still happening the way they did in the original timeline, why did we make this show in the first place then?

Biu and Win’s discussion is cut short by Nut calling Win’s home, and they talk about the band and not their feelings, because they might be homosexuals, but they’re also men. And men are stupid when it comes to talking about their feelings. Nut says he’s got something to tell Win after the competition, but will you even be alive by then? Also, Win, you know he’s going to die. Why not just tell him? I don’t understand?

We then go to Chai, who finally gives his mom the necklace that he worked his butt off to get back. Now, is Chai’s actor the best one out there? Not quite. But he looks like this without a shirt on so I’m willing to overlook things. I’m a simple creature!

Over at Aek’s home, he tells his parents that there’s something he wants to share with them, and while we don’t get to see it just yet, we do see the gang back at his house for rehearsal. Did he say he needed Rough Service Top Chai in his life?

Win also does the ladder to Nut’s room trick he did in the first episode so that Nut can join band practice, and sure they have fun and all that, but Nut’s still going to die soon. When they go back to Nut’s house, circumstances arise where Win has to get into Nut’s room and Nut flat out asks Win if he wants to sleep in his room. Get Nut’s nut Win!

Win doesn’t stay the night, BUT Nut does tell him that he likes him in a roundabout manner, thanks to a song he wrote. Win kisses him! It’s cute. They start making out, and we fade out, but I don’t think they had sex.

The next day, Nut is giddy about the kiss, but it’s all just temporary, because now he has to deal with his dad, whose sole characteristic throughout the series has been to disapprove of Nut’s pursuit of music. There’s also the fact that he faints in front of his dad, who of course takes him to a hospital. He finds out that Nut has a brain tumor, and that he needs to be transferred to a Bangkok hospital — I thought all the while this was set in Bangkok — because the hospital doesn’t have the tools to perform brain surgery.

When he regains consciousness, his father tries to prevent him from going to the competition, and this time for something reasonable. But since he’s destroyed his relationship with his son already, Nut runs away from the hospital to get to the competition. You’re running in the street wearing hospital scrubs!
