We said goodbye to Nyongbella in the previous episode, a result I didn’t expect because I fully thought Ru was charmed by her. Oh well! Let’s get into this latest episode!
Sillexa’s sorry that she sent Nyongbella home, but a queen’s gotta do what a queen’s gotta do. The rest of the queens do think that she’s going to be a star, and Bonnie even called her a unique little light.
After erasing the mirror message, the queens congratulate Bonnie for her win, with Sally getting in a little jab at Catrin in the confessionals. Chai’s also asked about being placed in the bottom two weeks in a row, and of course, she gives the requisite “I’m ready to push even more” response. I mean, what else are you gonna say?
Elle, meanwhile, pokes the bear that is Paige Three by asking her how she feels about still being badgeless halfway through the season. She wants it so bad that I feel she’s just going to be pushed to breaking like Jan. They want that meme face, Paige!
The next day in the Werk Room, it’s Catrin who gets asked about still not winning a badge despite it being within reach. She says she needs to win one now, because she doesn’t like being edged, which of course prompt Bonnie to say “Hear that, Tayris?”, to which Tayris responds that she learned that the hard way. But before can Tayris can elaborate on that, Ru enters the Werk Room and tells the queens that this week’s Maxi Challenge is the talent show.
So, the queens start talking about their talent shows. Chai is doing a “stupid” burlesque, while Sally is doing a monologue. Sally, babe, you in danger girl.
Bonnie, meanwhile, says that there have been a few things that she’s done before that have worked, and she’s going to be sifting through them, but I think one thing she should keep in mind is that there’s not a lot of time on stage. Like Irene the Alien said about her glass of water act, the short time they’re given really made a hit act look stupid.
Sillexa, coming from a bottom placement in the previous episode, is worried that her “silly” act may not be a hit with the judges. I think Ru generally likes silly, but since Sillexa doesn’t elaborate further on what it is she’s going to do, it’s hard to tell if it’s going to be a win for her or not.
La Voix then enters the Werk Room to hand out some advice! And I’d listen to that advice, because as Bonnie points out, La Voix won four badges during her season and a lot of people thought she should have won! It’s during this coaching session that we get to hear some of the queens’ acts. Sillexa is doing an alien burlesque, which is definitely going to clash with Chai’s “stupid” burlesque. I think Chai may be going home this week. Asians generally don’t do well on the non-Asian Drag Race, let’s be honest. That’s why they had to do Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale!
I was surprised with Bones not being confident about her act. Or at least, that’s what she says in the confessional. La Voix thinks Bones is confident, but does says that so was she when she went up against Kyran and look what that got her. Bones is even more worried when Elle shares that she’s doing an original track entitled An Original Track, which parodies queens doing, you guessed it, an original track.
The day of the Maxi Challenge arrives and it’s Elle Vosque performing first and…it’s Bones herself who says that she in danger, girl. She then performs and…well, she in danger, girl. Although I do think this is just her ~vulnerability~ episode because I think she’s being primed to win this season.
Sally’s act is not quite Irene’s glass of water one, but I don’t think it’s going to win her this talent show either. Sillexa did okay, and in my head I am already saying goodbye to Chai because they’re never going to pick her over the white girl. And then Chai performs and…well, see you on Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale season 2 then.
Let’s head to the runway! It’s oversized fashion and while I think Chai’s look is great, I don’t think it’s going to save her a third time on the show. Other looks that I liked were Sillexa’s, Elle’s, and Sally’s, but I don’t think there were any absolute boots on the runway.
Catrin, Bonnie, and Sally are the safe queens this episode, which probably is going to piss off Bonnie because that is yet another RuBadge she hasn’t won. Chai remains with the rest of the group, so ลาก่อน, babe, see you Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale season 2! As for the top queens, it looks like it’s going to be Sillexa and Elle, with Sillexa taking the win, I think, because that’s a good and dependable storyline.
And Sillexa wins! Meanwhile, in the bottom are Chai and Bones, and it really can’t be any clearer that Chai is going home this episode. Especially since Bones is in an “outfit” that makes it easier for her to do moves during the lip sync. And look, Chai does get sent home!
