I know this is several days late, but life happened in the past few days and I just did not have the bandwidth to watch the show as it aired. But I’m ready now!
We saw Chai get sent home in the previous episode, and after appropriately mourning her, Sillexa celebrates finally joining the winner’s circle. Tayris also gets a shoutout for finally becoming one of the top queens.
On the other of the spectrum, Paige is having a tough time after the judges told her in the previous episode that they’re not hearing her voice. I think Paige just has to do that oft-repeated phrase within the Drag Race fandom: show some vulnerability, like she’s doing now in the Werk Room. Paige is also insisting that her being in the bottom three is going to change now, which just means production is already plotting how she can be put in the bottom again.
In the Werk Room the next day, Sillexa points out that there have been so many solo wins this season, which I never really noticed before. There have been a lot of group wins with group badges given out in previous seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. In the midst of all that, Tayris insinuates that he’s been eating out Catrin, which I think she should keep doing because Ru loves herself a showmance!
Speaking of Ru, she walks in to tell the girls that this is the Rusical episode, and they’re doing a Peter Pan adaptation this time around. I hold very little hope that it’s going to be as good as Drag Race España‘s recently aired adaptation of The House of Bernarda Alba. But already, Paige is setting herself up for a fall as she declares in the confessional that she has skills that will work for this challenge.
Sillexa gets to assign the roles for the Rusical, and she is the first to declare that it’s about to get shady. Before she assigns the roles, she asks if anybody is feeling nervous, and Tayris declares that she’s excited and that she can see herself gobbling up the challenge, and I think that foolhardy announcement just means she’ll be going home this episode. And she was so close to winning a challenge!
It becomes even more apparent that Tayris is going to at least be in the bottom because she gives way to the rest of the queens when it comes to the casting, not getting any of the roles she wanted for the Rusical. Laca Udilla from Drag Race España found herself in the bottom for the exact same thing!
During the rehearsal, I find out that Paige was in Kinky Boots in the West End, and while I haven’t seen the musical, I did love the movie itself. I can’t even remember how I got to watch it. I think during one edition of the Cine Europa film festival?
Sillexa, Tayris, and Catrin are the ones that stand out during the singing rehearsals for all the wrong reasons, with Tayris and Catrin even more so than Sillexa. Sillexa at least got to wrangle her voice a bit by the end of her time rehearsing, while Tayris and Catrin are nowhere near show ready.
When it comes to the dancing, Sillexa’s weakness is once again emphasized, but this time around, she has a compatriot in Sally, who is also bad when it comes to dancing. Tayris at least redeems her singing rehearsal with her dancing, but will she actually deliver during the Rusical? We shall see.
The next day as the queens prepare for the Rusical, Elle and Sillexa start talking about the possible threats this episode, and Paige’s name comes up. Sillexa brings up the possibility Paige might just be safe again in this challenge, and Elle says that Paige might just blow up. I’ve been saying this since the previous episode, they want to Jan Paige. They’re looking to get that meme moment again.
The Rusical finally starts and you know what? It was fun! I thought I was for sure going to want to fast forward through it, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.
We then get the Battle Axe, Warrior Queens runway and well, Paige is still wearing a bikini. A variation of it, to be fair, but it’s still a bikini. I wasn’t really moved by the other queen’s outfits either, until we get to Sally.

Catrin and Bonnie are the safe queens this episode, and during the judges’ critiques, it’s mostly positive for everyone left on the stage. It does look like it’s going to be Tayris and maybe Sally in the bottom, and if it’s the two of them down there, it’s definitely Tayris going home because they’re not going to send the white queen home after what the RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Twitter account pulled a few days ago. Yes, I know about that.
Back in the Werk Room, I wish production didn’t edit out what Tayris was saying — or was going to say — about how POC queens are viewed outside of the show, because that is a discussion that is definitely something the Drag Race fandom should be having. But, alas, they did not show that.
During the deliberation, it looked like it was going to be between Paige Three and Elle for the win, and would you look at that, it’s a double win! They didn’t wait for Paige to have a breakdown! As for the bottom queens, it’s a fight between Tayris and Sally, and you just know Tayris is going home. But then the lip synch song is Shirley Bassey and come on. That song is for Tayris. She really did smash it, so it wasn’t a surprise to me that she won this lip sync.
If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
