Ron Watches Are You Sure? Season 2 Episode 1

It’s been more than a year since we got the final episode of what we didn’t know was just the first season of this travel show, and now we’re getting a second season! Let’s dive right into it.

We start the new season on June 15, 2025, in South Korea, literally four days after Jungkook and Jimin were discharged from the military. Jungkook’s ringing the doorbell to Jimin’s condo, and after getting the passcode from Jimin’s mom, he finally enters and we get to see an animated layout of Jimin’s home. Of course, we’re not getting actual footage because there are some creepers out there! We get some footage from Season 1, and we get to see sleepy Jimin from a year ago again! We also hear Jimin saying that he’s literally naked right now, and Jungkook says Jimin’s always been naked. My goodness.

After getting permission to come inside his house, we get to see shirtless Jimin with the tattoos visible and all that and this really is a new chapter because they’re no longer putting an animated shirt on top of his torso. We’re all adults now, it’s okay!

Jimin finally has a shirt on when they reconvene in the living room, and we find out that it’s not just Jimin that’s been ambushed, because Jungkook got ambushed by the production crew as well. it was Jungkook’s idea, apparently, and of course, what the Golden Maknae wants, the Golden Maknae gets.

And did you know that the Golden Maknae has an album titled Golden? Check it out on Spotify!

Unlike the previous season, there’s going to be games this time around, allowances, and challenges to give the show a little spice, so to speak. I would have been perfectly happy if they retained last season’s travelogue format, but I’m not complaining about the changes, either! The only thing I was a little concerned about was Jungkook suggesting public transport. Babe. Babe. No.

After a 10-minute packing sesh, Jimin and Jungkook are off to…somewhere. Jungkook encounters a camera inside the car that follows his movements, and I’m guessing that really impacted him because he eventually got it for his streaming sessions. While in the car to the airport, the guys watch Hobi on The Manager, clips from which you can watch in the playlist below!

But it turns out they weren’t going to the airport, as they’re sent to an accommodation near the Incheon Airport instead. Just like them, I think they’re going to spend the night there and leave the next morning, but eventually all my focus moves to the food because I have no self-control. I wanna eat tonkatsu now.

After dinner, the first game of the episode starts, with the guys getting to ask questions with each win. The first game is a flag game and UY PILIPINS WOO

The guys get nine chances to ask questions after the flag game, and after faffing around a bit with the questions, Jimin asks if the country they’re going to was part of the flag game, and from there, he was able to quickly deduce that Switzerland is where they’re headed.

The producer tells them that this time around, the theme is minimalism, and as an old fogey, lemme just say I will slap you if you take me on a “minimalist” trip at my age. Get me to a freaking hotel, damn it. But the guys are young and sprightly, so I’m sure they’ll manage on this “minimalist” trip.

As part of the theme, the guys are told to unpack what they packed earlier and just put the essentials in the tiny suitcases the production has provided. As they unpack, we find out that Jungkook has a literal extension cord in his suitcase like a crazy person. AN EXTENSION CORD.

Truly an astute observation.

While Jimin is sorta adjusting to minimalist packing, Jungkook is having a little meltdown, which eventually gets the production to provide them with three more bags: two small ones for each of them, and a slight larger suitcase that the two of them can share. I think that’s now three suitcases and two bags in total? Jungkook’s small bag is full of toiletries and skincare and because of recency I can’t help but think of Hudson Williams.

I hope Jungkook doesn’t get stopped at the airport!

Once they’re done packing, the guys share some enlistment stories like the ahjussis that they are now. Jungkook also talks about wanting to learn starting from the basics of dance again, especially since 2026 is going to be the year they start touring again. We also get a little guest spot from Hobi over the phone, and it feels like old times again, if you’ve been an ARMY long enough.

The next morning, Jungkook demolishes a banana oat drink that I kinda wanna try out now as well, because Jungkook just eats and drinks so well. Then they’re finally off to Switzerland on Swiss Air, whose business class looks…well, meh. Not like I can afford it, mind you, but I’ve seen the guys in better airlines. Sue me.

When they finally land, I’m thankful that they have a car they can drive, because I just can’t imagine them on public transport. They should be able to go on public transport, but at this point everyone knows that there are creepy people just looking for a way to get close to them without their consent.

Even in Switzerland, the guys are talking about their time in the military, which is completely understandable since this trip is happening just literal days after their discharge. I know that they’re technically still in a war with North Korea and that’s why enlistment is baked into the culture, but I do hope that their government reforms mandatory enlistment because you can’t have a generation of young boys resenting having to mandatory enlist.

As they’re driving to what I assume their accommodations are for the Switzerland leg, the guys start playing “Don’t Say You Love Me” on the radio and of course you guys should check it out.

After briefly discussing a possible third season of Are You Sure? with the guys just visiting each others homes in Seoul in their own cars, the guys finally arrive at their destination and they are herded into a restaurant, where they proceed to order a four-cheese platter, cured meat, lamb steak, and a fillet steak. There’s a little apprehension when the waitress asks about what sides they’d like, but the guys sail through it thanks to the OBVIOUS choice of mashed potato. Their English has really improved over time! They also pick out a red wine solely through vibes, and wouldn’t you know it, Jungkook’s vibes are immaculate because they love the wine they picked.

They then arrive at their accommodations for the night, and they proceed to buy some supplies from the convenience store (?) before checking in. Jungkook is buying bottles of mineral water, which he and Jimin eventually have to clean up because they both told the others to just dump their empty water bottles at the back of their cars. We then get to the room they’ll be staying while in Switzerland, and I gotta say it looks pretty nice to me.

Jimin and Jungkook then play what I think is the final game of the day, because there’s just 20 minutes left of this episode. It’s for an allowance of 50 Swiss francs, and what they have to do is accurately guess what time is it while they’re playing this game, with looking at any of their smart watches. They’re given a five-minute margin of error, but when Jimin once again gets pretty close to the correct answer, the producers lower the margin of error to three minutes and yet Jimin still guesses within the margin of error. Amazing.

The next game is to set they’re wake up time, and they’re going to find that out by guessing the MV that the production is showing them. So, basically copying BTS Chart Data’s Film Out game. I KID. After that, they do the game where they have to guess the name of the celebs from the pics, which is a staple in Korean variety by now. By the time the game ends, the guys amassed an additional 70 minutes before they have to wake up. After breakfast the next day, the guys finally start their first day of activities in Switzerland, which we’ll see in episode two!

If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
