Ron Watches The Wicked Game Episode 9

At the end of the previous episode, Jet shot Thanet. What’s going to be the fallout from that? Is Pheem going to remain the CEO? Let’s find out in this episode!

Jet should really give his bodyguard at least a handie, because as soon as he sees what’s happened, he immediately tries to reframe it as Pheem shooting Thanet and Jet coming in to save Thanet. Thanet’s bodyguard doesn’t believe him, of course, but with Arisa and Jet joining forces, who has more “credibility” in the eyes of the public? The bodyguard or the actual children? There’s also the fact that Arisa’s bodyguard kills Thanet’s bodyguard, so the only one who believes him is gone. It’s now Pheem’s turn to get ~taken care of~, but Thun swoops in to save him from Arisa.

Over at the hospital, Thanet is well and truly dead. He’s clearly, most sincerely dead. Jet puts in yet another screaming performance, which is apparently the only tool he’s got in his acting toolbox. At least you’ve got abs!

While all that’s happening, Thun takes Pheem with him to…Hua Hin I think? Just, wherever it is his parents are. I could search for it in previous posts, but I don’t get paid for this so I’d rather just continue watching. They better not turn this into “the real treasure was the simple life I’m living now with my gay policeman boyfriend that I shot before”.

But it really looks like it’s going to turn out that way, with Pheem finally seeing a healthy family dynamic for once. Thun, however, insists that he’s not helping out because he misses Pheem’s bussy. He just wants justice to be served, and Pheem is a material witness.

Back at Thanavej, Jet and his limited acting range is being comforted by his equally hunky bodyguard. The hunky bodyguard who’s even manipulated the CCTV evidence for Jet. Jet, I swear, if you don’t at least flick your bodyguard’s nipples, you could at least give him youra fat cockbonus. Arisa also says that he’s willing to testify that it was Pheem who shot Thanet.

Over at Hua Him, we get family karaoke, and Pheem watches it and contrasts it with his own family, where he’s been hit and shot at and drugged. Listen, no family’s perfect! And yes, it’s true that the relentless pursuit of money and power destroys one’s soul. It’s just that this is too black and white for my tastes right now. I can see being fine with is at maybe a different point in my life, but I’m not living in that headspace right now.

Thun’s parents notice he’s being weird about Pheem, and it’s his father who goes out to talk to him about it. Thun asks his dad if he’d stay with someone who deceives him, and while his dad’s first response was I’d split with the person, you get the impression that Thun still wants Pheem’s peen because he adds that the person has already apologized and admitted he was wrong. Thun’s dad tells him to look into his heart and if he can forgive the other person, then do it. Meanwhile, the first thing that came to mind is “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge! because of the line “Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing?”

Thun’s dad isn’t dumb, either, because he immediately clocks that it’s Pheem that Thun’s talking about.

Thun needs to listen to his heart a lot quicker, because the next day, his mom finds out online that Pheem is possibly connected to Thanet’s death. Thun calms his parents down, but Pheem sees him doing this and because he doesn’t want to be a further burden to Thun’s family, he runs away. Which isn’t the best thing to do at the moment as Arisa’s people are looking for him.

Fortunately for Thun, Pheem really hasn’t gone far and has stayed in a little hotel near the bus station, where he eventually finds him. They have an argument inside Pheem’s room — where no one else can see — and Pheem finally admits that he manipulated Thun and messed up his life, and that he’s sorry about it. Pheem tries to leave so Thun gets some peace but Thun stops him with a whole kabedon thing and a kiss. Of course this leads to sex.

Now that they’ve fucked the frustration away, Thun and Pheem finally come clean with one another and explain their actions over the past eight episodes. Pheem says pursuing the CEO seat of Thanavej has only left him empty but Thun’s dick sure filled him up, and seeing Thun happy with his family made him realize what’s really important. He even says that he’s now realized the most important thing is the people around him! The CEO seat is the friends we made along the way! I make fun of it, but you bet your butt I was squeeing when Thun told his parents the next day that Pheem is his boyfriend and the parents were all “We know. Now pass the rice.”

Of course, the happiness doesn’t last for long, as back in Bangkok, Arisa has revealed doctored footage implicating Pheem in the murder of Thanet. I don’t know about you all, but with all the shenanigans happening with this company, why haven’t the investors all fled? Either way, Arisa’s finally the one sitting on the Iron Throne CEO seat, or at least it’s practically hers, with Pheem in hiding. We also find out that she’s had her people staking out Thun’s place, and maybe this is what pushes Pheem to propose to Thun.

AND THEY DID GET MARRIED. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A PROMISE TO MARRY AFTER EVERYTHING GETS RESOLVED BUT THEY REALLY DID. And this maybe a nothingburger to maybe people from the West, but they’ve approved gay marriage in Thailand and I think the production had a certain pride in showing off that marriage license. Thun even boasts about their marriage being legal in the dialogue of the show. And it truly is something to be proud of!

A celebration of progress…followed by egregious homophobia because that is an awkward cut of the honeymoon scene that I’m pretty sure was done for YouTube but I can’t afford an iQiyi subscription right now, okay? Where can I watch this uncut?

And then we find out that whole wedding ceremony was also partly a distraction, as Pheem and his aunt have drugged Thun and his parents so Pheem can escape and confront Risa on his own. Let’s see how this all ends!
