Ron Watches Drag Race España Season 5 Episode 11

It’s the final episode! Let’s get into it!

We saw Nori, Ferrxn, and Alexandra del Raval win the special awards in the previous episode, and now we’re ready to crown Spain’s Next Drag Superstar!

Today’s episode starts with the queens walking into the Werk Room and acknowledging Dafne’s bright future, seeing as she’s only 20 years old and just two years into drag. It can only get better! They also congratulate Laca and tell her that she should be more confident. Is this signaling that she…might win the whole thing?

The next day, the queens look back at the season and acknowledge how tough it is to get where they are. Then Supremme walks into the Werk Room and explains the final Maxi Challenge — the music video. And from the music video, they’ll pick two queens who’ll battle it out for the crown.

Eurovision is immediately brought up when the queens start listening to the song, and I start wondering if that’s even going to happen this year, because the last time I was on social media — I’ve been trying to wean myself off it — nations were pulling out of that competition.

Instead of a TicTac lunch, the queens have a pajama party with Supremme, with Laca up first. She brings up what I think is a legit worry, which is that she has never lip synced on the show before, because she was saved by a heart the one time she could have been one of the bottom two. Supremme also asks about why Laca is always doubting herself, and if this was American Drag Race Ru would have brought up the ~inner saboteur~.

It’s not so much inner saboteur this time around for the queens, but the constant Supremme keeps bringing up is that the queens underestimating themselves when the judges keep hyping them up. The family visits are also brought up. I also like that this is where they asked the “Why should you be Spain’s Next Drag Superstar?” question. They also end with a pillow fight and I can’t help but think about Courtney Act from that season six photo shoot.

We then get to see the queens praise each other in front of the mirror, with Laca going first, and for some reason I’m really just feeling that she’s going to be the one winning the whole thing. It’s her or Satin Greco.

On the day of judging the queens enter the runway wearing…well, I thought they were mid before I realized that it’s all lip sync outfits that allow for maximum movement. We then get the music video and honestly? Not bad! Not a fan of those close-ups though. Are you sabotaging these queens?

After the screening of the music video, we get to the part of the show where it’s all love from the judges when it comes to the critiques. And it’s here that I think we see that Satin might just win it all, because she’s the only one of the queens where Supremme cried. Or maybe Supremme just relates to her journey, I dunno!

Turns out I misunderstood the flow of the show! There’s still going to be two lip sync battles leading into the final two, and the first one up is Margarita Kalifata versus Nix. And can I just say, I love how diverse and Spanish the songs are on Drag Race España? I wish they did the same for the songs on Drag Race Philippines. More Filipino artists and songs on Drag Race Philippines!

At first, I thought it was going to Margarita for sure, but then her nipples started showing and I thought they were going to dock points for that. But I guess they didn’t care because it’s Margarita who emerges victorious!

As to who between Laca and Satin is going to face Margarita? I’m sorry Laca, I totally misread the signs, because I think Satin is sending you home with this lip sync. Satin just looks more like a pop star, and that high kick was perfectly timed. Laca’s cartwheel just looked desperate in comparison. Satin wins, although I did feel a little bad because Laca did look truly heartbroken. And she was, based on the Werk Room discussion. Now I feel bad. But Satin really did win that lip sync.

Supremme brings back all the girls, and I like Nix, Alexandra, Denébola, and Satin’s outfits. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? I’ve never seen a lip sync so exciting, despite there being no acrobatics being done onstage! I think Margarita put up a brave fight, but that outfit was not helping her. Satin has this in the bag, for sure. And she does win!

If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
