Ron Watches The Wicked Game Episode 10

It’s the season finale! Let’s get into it!

At the end of the previous episode, Pheem literally drugged Thun and his family after their marriage, just so he could face Risa alone. After Thun just told him not to do it! Of course, it does set up Thun to swoop in as a hero later on, so let’s see if that happens!

What happens is Thun wakes up from a dream where he saw younger him abandon young Pheem, who stars coughing blood. He starts looking around the house for his husband, and of course, doesn’t find him but finds a letter instead. Aside from explaining what he’s done, Pheem also leaves the key to his safety deposit box, I’m guessing, with money for Thun’s family.

After saying his goodbyes to his aunt, Pheem waits at a dock, where Jet promptly points a gun at him. Pheem reveals to Jet that it was Risa who killed his mother, and that she’s been scheming against both of them to get the top position at Thanavej, which the show has telegraphed since the first episode. Then Risa herself shows up, confusing Jet even more and making him scream and shout again, which is the length and breadth of his range. But he’s just so hot.

Anyways, Jet is finally convinced that it’s Risa who killed his mom, and as he’s about to shoot, he’s shot first by Risa’s bodyguard. In fact, it looks like all of Risa’s bodyguards are female. Now those girls need a show of their own! When it looks like Pheem, Jet, and Jet’s bodyguard are about to be gunned to death, Jet’s bodyguard makes his move and allows the three of them to momentarily escape.

Thun finally arrives and has to confront Pheem’s aunt about what’s happening. Inside, Pheem has been split up from Jet and his bodyguard, and they’re being hunted down by Risa’s security detail, that apparently is not all female. Boo! Pheem does run into Thun while he’s trying to hide from Risa’s bodyguards, so yay!

Unfortunately, things aren’t progressing as well for Jet and his bodyguard. They’ve both been shot, and unless they’ve made a mistake in editing, Jet’s been shot fatally. He’s made an escape, but he’s probably going to die soon. His bodyguard is also shot, I think fatally, so at least they’re going to die together?

But it looks like they aren’t the only ones who are going to die, because Thun also gets shot twice. He even gets stabbed! I swear, if Thun dies and doesn’t end up with Pheem I am going to be upset. But then Pheem swoops in to save him and gets him onto his aunt’s car. I thought Pheem was going to get into the car as well, but he stays behind and then gets shot multiple times. I thought he was going to die, but then he falls into the water. As someone who grew up with Filipino telenovelas, I know he’s surviving that.

The next day, the media is all over the scene, and Risa is spinning it in her favor, saying that Jet was killed by Pheem. We find out that Jet’s bodyguard has survived, and that Jet tells him before dying that he should go live his live and not seek revenge for him. It’s actually a well-done scene and I almost teared up!

Back in Hoi An, Thun wakes up from a dream where Pheem is still alive and making a Venice itinerary for their honeymoon. Of course this fucks him up and you can’t blame him for crying. Later on that day, the police bring him Pheem’s clothes but not his body. Where. Is. The. Body.

On top of all that, Risa becomes becomes the CEO of Thanavej. Thun is not having a great day. He’s also not looking at the necklace that Pheem gave him before he “died”. Because there’s something there, for sure. We also find out that since he’s the husband, Pheem left Thun everything in his will. Now Thun’s a rich man! But of course, he doesn’t give a fuck. He just wants Pheem back. Daou gets act, and his character Thun also finally notices that there’s something with the necklace Pheem left him. A memory card!

It is hilarious that the video is released on the “dark web” that conveniently has labels saying “dark web”. It’s video of Risa laying out her plan like your typical villain, which leads her to cancel everything and have her bodyguard take her out the back door…where they run into Thun, who tells her the police are here. He wants to do this legally, but Risa tells her that she’s a nepo baby who’s not going to face any consequences. Until Jet’s bodyguard arrives! A shooting rampage ensues, which results in the death Risa, her bodyguard, and Jet’s bodyguard as well. Not a fan of the discussion that Thun has with his policeman friends after, though. A little too on the nose. We know the family got nothing in the end. We just watched it!

Thun then heads to the dock where Pheem “died” and tells him that everything’s all right now, but it’s a pity he didn’t get to see it. He tells him that he misses him, and then Pheem tells him he missed him too! Actual living Pheem! Turns out he already had a bulletproof vest on before going in, and just as you’d expect from a Filipino telenovela, falling into the water gave him a chance to swim away. With the world thinking Pheem is dead, he can now happily live the simple life with Thun. A simple life funded by all the money he willed to him before his death.

We’re done! I have to admit that I didn’t like this as much as Century of Love, because there were just some things that were too on the nose for me. But I still enjoyed watching this, and think that it really gave Daou and Offroad a chance to play something different to what people are used to see them doing. I’d still give this show a thumbs up!

If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
