Ron Does Stuff

I haven’t been to a lot of fan events since the pandemic because I’ve been trying to wean myself off of social media, and that’s where news of things like this usually spread. But thanks to fellow ARMY Chi, I got an invite to this one!

“Cheers to the Stars: A Christmas Toast with Jimin, Jin, and V” was an event organized by multiple Filipino fanbases — The Purple Initiative Manila, BTS Streamers, ARMY Pulse PH, BORAHAECIJA, Purple 7 Tannies PH, JinKook PH, Eye Purple U, Bangtan Hwaiting, BTS ARMY OH, Ginyn Cadavillo, and Maj Uson — as part of the BTS RE:TURN PH initiative, which is looking to galvanize Filipino ARMY when it comes to streaming, voting, fundraising, and organizing events.

It was held at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s VU’s Sky Bar & Lounge, which has two exclusive IGIN-based cocktails: Purple Velvet and Seoul Verde. I didn’t get to try those since I’m not much of a drinker, but everybody said it was sweet and like candy!

There were also giveaways because of course. There were stuff from Laneige, TirTir, even Marco Polo Ortigas Manila gave a one-night stay at the hotel! There were also some merch sellers at the venue, and I ended up buying a BT21 umbrella and Tiny Tan house slippers.

I also talked with Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s Restaurant, Bar and Events marketing executive Dianne Aranas, who said that the hotel was looking into hosting more events in 2026, such as holding IGIN nights and themed nights.

Also there was Richard Juan of Tags on Tags, the official distributor of IGIN in the Philippines, and he was surprised at how friendly and happy everyone was. He also shared that they’re planning to do a major launch of IGIN in 2026, so watch out for that!
