Ron Reads Ember & Ice Episode 3 by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie

This is it, the final episode! Work has been busy — I will admit it’s my fault! — so I wasn’t able to listen to this as it got out. So let’s get into it!

So, by the end of episode two, everything was set up for an ~explosive~ reunion between Finn and Dane. Now let’s see how things turn out!

The Lunare have lost and are set to surrender to the Solari, and Finn is already imagining Dane gloating about this victory. The Lunare are giving up a lot, so I can’t really blame Finn’s dad for being disappointed. But I think the writer did this because Finn can finally be free from being ~the son~ and let loose with Dane.

Finn finally sees Dane, and since fae (derogatory) are gonna fae (derogatory), he can’t deny that Dane looks attractive. He thinks Dane is making fun of him, but maybe his perception is muddied by the loss and having to give up so much of their territory. But his perception isn’t so muddied that he doesn’t notice Dane is still very much single.

Finn and Dane finally face each other and I think the best summary for this is Connor Storrie whispering in your ear, and the audio making sure that it feels like he is indeed whispering in your ear. My goodness.

When Finn is finally alone and assesses his performance, I want everyone who’s listening to it for the first time to take note of that shudder when he recalls Dane whispering in his ear. Hudson, babe, do it again. if that wasn’t enough of a sign to show that the war hasn’t watered down Finn’s attraction to Dane, him worrying about Dane’s feelings definitely does.

And he definitely should be worrying about Dane’s feelings, because his father has offered him up as a husband to the Solari king’s niece as a way to ensure that peace lasts as long as possible. Dane is not happy, but Finn is a bratty bottom who kinda likes that.

Finn hangs around a tower later that night, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s the tower where Dane sleeps. And wouldn’t you know it, Dane tackles him once he sees him, a physical connection that’s cut off as soon as the topic of Finn’s marriage is brought up. Finn continues to be a bratty bottom and tries to get a rise out of Finn, which ends up with Dane kabedon…ing? him against the tower wall. You don’t get Hudson and Connor moaning in your ear, so that’s nice. The blowjob sounds? Not as loud as the ones the non-celebrity Quinn artists do, but definitely did not exist in the previous celeb ones. Although I have to admit I’ve only listened to the Jamie Campbell Bower and Manny Jacinto ones.

Did somebody say Manny Jacinto? Here’s a gallery of the pictures I took when he was here in the country for the Freakier Friday premiere.

And when they’re done with blowjob and starts fucking? My goodness. I live alone and I’m clutching my non-existent pearls. The audio does the audio equivalent of fade to black though, which isn’t what the non-celebrity Quinn artists do. Those people take it to completion, if you know what I mean.

Post-coitus, the two of them head to the kitchen since Finn is hungry, and Finn finds out that Dane can cook. Also, it seems like Connor was just locked into the ~husky~ register throughout because his voice did not have to sound like that when talking about food. And then the casual dropping of “Do you think you could love me again?” My heart?

Unfortunately, love has to take a back seat, as the peace treaty between the two kingdoms is already being endangered by the Lunare court, who plan to kill the Solari the day of the treaty signing, after the Solari get themselves drunk in celebration. Finn tries to tell Dane about it, but Dane is still sulky about the night before.

When Finn finally catches Dane, the Lunare lords think it’s the signal to start their attack, and we get to hear non-sexual panting from Hudson and Connor as their characters try to figure out what to do. It’s Finn who steps up, exposing the Lunare traitors and proposing to Dane as a way to cement the peace between the kingdoms. And it works! I especially liked Dane whispering “Next time if I ask you do you love me, just say yes.”

We get one final sex scene, as a treat, and it’s one where Finn is riding Dane, because of course. And the there’s a little flip and now it’s missionary. It’s like deja vu.

Granted, this wasn’t missionary and more rimming but whatever.

Also did somebody say Deja Vu?

Stream it on Spotify too!

Also the flesh slapping sounds? Again, not unusual for the non-celebrity Quinn creators, but I think this is a first for the celeb ones!

This was a really nice experiment for Quinn, as they don’t usually have dual celebrity narrators. It gave the episodes a really different dynamic from the usual Quinn celebrity fare, and I’m curious if they’re going to pursue this again if another famous couple is up for it. I also prefer this return to fantasy compared to the Manny Jacinto offering, because as much as the steamy scenes in Hyperdrive were spectacular, I just could not stand the plot parts of the story and just tuned out. It’s definitely worth a listen for fans of Heated Rivalry who are looking for a fix as we all brace ourselves for the long wait for season two.

If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
