It’s back! OH MY GOD IT’S BACK.
Before we start the episode, I just wanna share with everyone that I met Shun and Dai when they visited here back in 2024, I think?

ANYWAY, BACK TO THE SHOW.
Okay, biggest change this time around is that this is going to happen during the winter, while the previous season ended in the summer. They’re also teasing a lot of ~kilig~ before the actual episode starts like they did in the previous season. Looks like there’s going to be a scene in a sauna at some point!
We get the Glen Check opening theme and I we are so back.
I dunno where the location is this time around, but it looks good. Kudos to whoever shot this. Also, the guys are literally arriving via planes, trains, and automobiles. It’s like the gay UN General Assembly or something.
The first to arrive in a larger Green Room is 23-year-old Bomi. He’s then followed by 26-year-old Jobu, and the contrast in everything is very apparent. Third to enter is 32-year-old Izaya and boy, I wish I looked that young when I was 32. And Jobu and Izaya already known each other as they have a mutual friend. Izaya’s also spent time in Australia, so I wonder how that flavors his interactions with the guys.
Fourth to enter the house is 29-year-old Hiroya, but his entrance is immediately eclipsed by 34-year-old William. Izaya lit up. Looks like they already know each other! Up next is 40-year-old Kazuyuki, who I think is the oldest? Even including the previous season? We then get 26-year-old Huwei, who I am guessing is Chinese? Considering the ~tension~ between China and Japan right now, I wonder how things worked out while this was filming? AND I’M WRONG! Huwei is actually Thai, and he and Bomi know each other. Is there a past there?
The guys then get their first message, welcoming them and telling them they’ll be living together for two months. After cooking their dinner, the guys start sharing about themselves and we find that Kazuyuki just got out of a 15-year relationship. Damn. Izaya is also kinda fresh out of a relationship — three years ago is still fresh, right? — and now wants to get back on the saddle, so to speak. We then get scenes of him crying and talking about how you don’t know when you’ll lose someone. Did his ex die or something?
Hiroya, on the other hand, was inspired by season one, and realized that he’s been all about work and hasn’t gone out there to get in a relationship. Judging from the preview they showed of what happens to him, he might just regret not focusing on work.
The sharing part of the night gets cut short as fireworks are set off outside. Was this for the show specifically, or it just so happened that fireworks were also going to be set off? But they had a drone ready to take the shots, so maybe this was all arranged by Netflix.
Back in the Green Room after the fireworks, we find out that William is part Peruvian, and that combination of genes? Lovely. Hiroya’s also got chocolates with him from Dubai that he shares with the group. We then get that shady ass task from the previous season where the guys write to one other resident of the Green Room without signing their name.
Already, Hiroya is counting himself out, and lemme tell you as your elder, that is a self-fulfilling prophecy in the gay world. There’s someone out there who’ll be specifically into you, so keep your chin up! We also find out that Bomi’s a virgin! He wants a pure relationship, and…well. More power to you, I guess!
Bomi doesn’t get any letters the next day. I mean, baby. Kazuyuki also doesn’t get any letters. The youngest and the oldest don’t get anything. I kinda thought it would only be Kazuyuki with an empty mailbox, but maybe I’m still looking at the show with a Western lens.
Jobu got a letter! He wishes it came from William, but he thinks it came from Kazuyuki. Don’t be a Gensei! William, unsurprisingly, gets two letters, one from Jobu, and one from Kazuyuki. SEE, JOBU.
The SEAbling Huwei doesn’t get a letter, either, while Izaya got one from Bomi, William, and Huwei. And he was able to figure out that it as Huwei! Izaya getting a lot of the letters is also not surprising, as he has that handsomeness that isn’t immediately apparent, but once you notice it, you can’t help focusing on it. Hiroya got a letter from Izaya, who thanks him for the gift. And already Hiroya is counting himself out, even though there are people who didn’t get anything.
The nexy morning, we find out that Huwei is Chinese, but has been living in Thailand since he was seven. Interesting. We also find out that he’s gotten admission to a doctoral program. Congrats, you’ve got money to burn! After that bit of good news, the guys go on a banana bot ride on the snow, and not only do you realize they now have a bigger budget, they also have more relaxing activities than the first batch did.
After the day out in the snow, the guys are told about their coffee van task and they name it…something. I do not like it. They get a coffee workshop like the previous season and William is making eyes at Izaya. Baby, if a guy that hot was staring at me like that I would be bent over.
We then find out even more about Huwei. I guess he is Thai, because apparently he’s a national athlete for Judo and could possibly represent Thailand in the LA Olympics? If that’s even going to push through, what with Trump in office. A jock with a PhD that isn’t about sports. Oh I would be bent over.
The next day — or is this still the same night? — William and Izaya are at the gym and I start thinking “They have a gym?” Season one didn’t have that! Second thing I’m thinking is Heated Rivalry.
In the kitchen, Bomi and Hiroya are drinking coffee, so I’m guessing this is indeed the next day. Bomi doesn’t want to go the hot springs with the guys at the moment, and Hiroya volunteers to stay in the house with him if he decides not to go. I think we have a doomed romance here. Hiroya is going to be Ryota confessing to Kazuto, I can see it already.
So, Bomi and Hiroya decide not to go, so they’re not part of the shirtless procession of men we get to see when the guys go to the hot springs. Jobu wants William’s cookie so bad. He sounds so thirsty in the voice-overs. And William wants to get married, so if Jobu’s lucky, he might snag himself not just a boyfriend, but possibly a husband!
Back at home, Bomi and Hiroya are bonding over being homebodies, and then Bomi shares that he and Huwei dated and that they’ve exchanged DMs. Well, well, well. And it doesn’t look like Hiroya is troubled by it, so maybe he’s not the Ryota of the season.
At dinner, the guys talk about long-distance relationships, and Izaya says he’s fine with it. Bomi says he can’t wait for more than an hour to be with the person he likes, and William says that feeling fades as one grows older. Izaya disagrees, and we find out why later after they finish washing the dishes.
TURNS OUT THAT WILLIAM GHOSTED IZAYA AFTER IZAYA SAID HE WANTED TO TAKE THEIR FRIENDSHIP TO THE NEXT LEVEL. And the fucking dramatic way they revealed it too, with the ominous music starting after William and Izaya talked about exes while doing the dishes. Izaya says William is the last person he wanted to meet here and BABY. I think you should run away!
I WANNA WATCH ALL THE EPISODES BUT CAPITALISM HAS ME ITS TIGHT GRIP.
If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
