Ron Watches Dare You to Death Episode 7

Not to jinx myself, but I might actually catch up on this show? Oh my goodness.

Jade finally got all up in Kamin’s bussy in the previous episode, and I hope the two of them are at least happy they got to do it in the workplace. A feat! An office human relations violation! Something to celebrate!

We don’t immediately see the aftermath of Jade and Kamin getting it on, because what we get is a flashback to when most of the friend group was still alive. They’re getting drunk and playing…UNO. Champ is cheating on Fai with Cherreen, and we get to see how Jay ~accidentally~ slept with Fai, just like he said in episode five. But the new information we find out is that someone was taping.

Then we get to see the aftermath of Jade and Kamin getting it on, and production couldn’t even mist them a little, so they at least look a little sweaty after sex? Dishevel their hair a bit, at least! Anyways, they get a little post-coitus sex, and then since we’ve got them shirtless anyway, we get to see them swimming as well. Here’s the wetness I was looking for. They then get street food afterward. I understand that post-sex craving. They then go to a photobooth, and by now I’m pretty sure they’re frontloading all the cute stuff in this episode, because it looks like Jay is the next target and the guys will have to get serious.

And the guys do get serious, but not because of Jay. Time’s crime scene has been found, and we get a flashback to what happened to him. The killer’s punishing him for making sex tapes, so I’m guessing he was the one taping Jay and Fai. As Kamin and Jade head to the crime scene, Kamin admits that he might resign after this case and go back to the States, something I would advise against because have you seen the United States now? People are leaving.

Turns out I misunderstood what’s happening with Time! I thought what we were being shown was flashbacks and that Time was already dead, but it turns out Kamin and Jade were called to the field because Time was somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be, and now he’s gone. Time is currently being tortured by the killer. The cops arrive just in time to see Time get stabbed in the neck by a contraption the killer set up. Their investigation of the crime scene leads them to Champ, who is the owner of the car that they saw in Tonkla’s garage, which Time brought to the warehouse where he was eventually killed.

So, what’s Champ doing? Trying to reassure Cherreen, who’s gotten a letter from the killer that includes photos of the abortion clinic where Fai went. Cherreen confesses that she gave Fai sleeping pills because Fai wanted to prank them, but I guess she miscalculated because Fai died and started all of this. What Cherreen doesn’t know is that Champ has also received a letter, and that his offer of having her stay with him might just be to keep her close in case and offer her up when the killer comes for him.

Kamin and Jade finally get to Champ, and they tell him to fess up, because with his car at the murder scene, it’s looking like he’s the suspect. He explains why his car was with Time, but then refuses to tell Kamin and Jade that he and Cherreen have both received the Truth or Dare letters. Which is crazy to me, because wouldn’t you want the police providing you with security, even if you already have your own? An extra layer always helps! He does provide them with an audio recording of Cherreen admitting that she gave the sleeping pills to Fai, so I guess I was sorta right that Champ was going to sacrifice her to save himself.

Kamin and Jade then head to the abortion clinic, and while they confirm that it’s where Fai got her abortion, they don’t get a lot in terms of physical evidence. What they do get is a scavenger telling them that Cherreen was also hanging around this place some time ago.

Back at the police headquarters, Jade and Kamin get a Truth or Dare letter from the killer, challenging them to find out which one among Champ, Cherreen, and Jay is the killer, or be the ones to die themselves. I guess this triggers something in Kamin because he orders Jade to head out and check on Jay, and Jade isn’t happy. He feels like Kamin’s worried about something else, other than the threat to their lives, but Kamin just tells him to trust him.

And while Jade does that for a bit, Jay pushes him to be with Kamin instead, and I dunno, you guys. This is a pretty weak third-act conflict, and something that seems to be consistent with Thai BLs. I remember this happening with My Golden Blood as well. Kamin implies that something bad happened to him in the past, but I guess that’s something we’ll learn about in the coming episodes.

If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
