See, I was supposed to watch this as it aired last night, but I didn’t realize it would go up on Netflix so late? And as someone of an advanced age, I just couldn’t stay up that long anymore. But I’m watching it now!
At the end of the previous episode, Kamin has just been booted off the case by Champ’s corrupt politician father. Unbeknownst to Champ’s father, his son and Cherreen have just been caught by the killer. He’s going to wish he never took Kamin off the case!
The episode opens with Jade and Kamin swimming, and I know that I can’t swim, but these two did not look like particularly graceful swimmers. But whatever. It looks like news of Champ and Cherreen’s disappearance still hasn’t reached the police, because these two homos still have time to swim and flirt.
As Jade and Kamin are clearing up Kamin’s office after the opening credits, the commander enters and tells Kamin that he can arrange a transfer for him back to Special Forces or something, despite just being suspended and not actually taken off the department. Kamin tells Jade that they may need to spend time apart so the commander doesn’t suspect them, and they do cutesy stuff because, of course, two college-aged people aren’t about to be murdered.
Okay, so maybe I missed something, or it wasn’t communicated clearly enough, but it looks like the police do know that Champ and Cherreen are missing. I gotta say, there’s a lack of urgency within the department, and a lack of pressure from the corrupt politician father. Shouldn’t you be breathing down the police force’s neck? Also, why remove a police officer investigating your son’s disappearance?
Jade follows up on the lead that they got from the previous episode, which is that the drug deals were happening in Tonkla’s dorm, and wouldn’t you know it, Kamin is also there, investigating even while suspended. They find out that it’s being used as a storage space for…medication? Ingredients? And those items are coming from the same hospital where the Other Coroner works. It’s starting to look like my guess is correct. Also, this is the second Thai show I’ve watched involving smuggling things out of hospitals.
Okay, I knew there was something weird, because I swear they showed Tonkla’s dorm before, and it didn’t look like storage, and I was right. Kamin and Jade were investigating an entirely different building and noticed that it could be seen from Tonkla’s dorm. They head there to investigate, but before they get to the dorm itself, they do some cutesy couple stuff on the stairs, and it’s a little eyeroll-inducing now. Once they finally make their way to Tonkla’s dorm, they find something behind a wall clock. It’s some sort of electronic device. Is it a camera? A recording device? Don’t know! And then Kamin gets a call telling him that the Other Coroner resigned. We then find out that not only is Fai’s body not in the morgue, Other Coroner also owns the storage space that Kamin and Jade investigated earlier. And that Other Coroner was dating Fai! Heterosexuals are so messy.
Kamin and Jade think that Other Coroner is killing the kids to avenge Fai’s death, which I guess is what it said in the report they were looking at earlier. I can’t read Thai! But I honestly do think that Fai is still alive.
While Kamin and Jade get the police to investigate Other Coroner’s office, Other Coroner is over at the hospital where Jay is confined. He’s left a Truth or Dare card for Jay, and I would like to know how he did that because at no point during their conversation was he that close to Jay’s bed. His first move was to call his brother, but it looks like he’s not going to do that, because Jade is at the police headquarters, flirting with Kamin over the phone and not getting a call from Jay.
It’s sort of a good thing that Kamin was checking up on Jay, because now they at least know he’s missing as well. A check of the CCTV does show that Jay is a stupid ho who thought it was smarter to follow the instruction on the Truth or Dare card rather than talk to his policeman brother, who’s actually investigating the case. If you die, you deserve it.
Jay’s gone to a house somewhere, where Other Coroner plays video from the killings. It’s a little far-fetched, but I’m suspending my disbelief as to how he got all that video. Other Coroner is giving him the choice to save either Champ or Cherreen, while Kamin is headed over to where he is since he left a tracker in Jay’s bag. He tells Jade about this, and of course Jade doesn’t want him to go there alone, but what are we gonna do? Kamin’s already on the way and his phone battery’s run out, so Jade didn’t hear him say “I love you.”
But maybe Kamin should have waited, as it turns out, Other Coroner is planning to blow up the house. And he also reveals that Fai’s still alive. I was right!
