Third week in a row where I’m sort of on time with this! Let’s go!
We said goodbye to Vita in the previous episode, and none of the girls are feeling good about it. It really does feel like Vita was such a positive force in the Werk Room. Even Juicy was feeling guilty about sending her home. Unsaid out loud — but Jane says it in the confessionals — is the fact that Juicy is the one queen that everybody else is afraid to lip sync against. Which is a valid fear, because Juicy really did demolish that lip sync.
After the sadness for Vita, the queens congratulate Myki for her win, and she immediately says in the confessionals that she’s vindicated about what she’s doing in the competition. Which of course, signals to production that she needs to be humbled quick. Also, what the fuck, Brooke Shields is the extra special guest judge?
Ru enters the Werk Room and tells them that this week’s Maxi Challenge is going to be the Snatch Game of Love Island, which has the queens flirting with three ~hotties~. Kenya is anxious because she had planned to just sit behind a table, like usual Snatch Game. Let’s see how she’s going to fare with this new format!
The queens start discussin their characters and Darlene is doing Mrs. Claus, Jane is doing Truman Capote, and Discord is doing The Pope™, and right during Lent! Was this timed or what? Myki is doing Drew Barrymore, who she knows as a cool mom, and I feel my bones disintegrate to dust, because I remember when she showed Letterman her boobs.
And I completely forgot Willow Pill did Drew back during her season!
Juicy, on the other hand, does not know who she is going to be doing, which might be the start of a ~surprise good performance~ storyline from her. Depends on who helps her out, because it was Myki’s help that made it possible for her to win back in episode three. Jane definitely isn’t helping her, because she’s trying to save herself. From what, I’m not sure, because she’s been doing so great so far!
Ru starts her walkthrough and immediately shoots down Athena’s Charlie Chaplin idea and Mia’s Big Ang idea. Could this be the fall of the Dion Dynasty? Juicy has settled on Jojo Siwa, and it hasn’t gotten a good reaction from Ru either.
Snatch Game starts and…well, Mia. We at least know you can dance. That intro was not it. Everybody else in her group at least managed to volley with Ru. The boys come in and…are these actual ~real~ people? Not celebs? Interesting! Jane looks like she might be in the lead for this batch, with Nini in second place. Mia, though. My goodness. I feel the pain in my bones.
The next batch? Discord being The Pope™? Releasing this during Lent? I mean, I hope she wins this episode because I LAUGHED just from the intro. Myki’s Drew is great as well, but I think she works best when bouncing off someone, and not as strong when it’s just her. Her going “Yes, Lizzo” and the guys laughing? I was laughing, too! Also, is Froy Catholic? Because he had that three days thing down.
We get to this week’s runway, which is themed 80s ladies, and I just have to share the Joan Collins and Diahann Carroll clip because Athena references it herself.
Athena, Darlene, and Discord are all safe, and I kinda agree with Discord here. I thought she would have been one of the top queens! But from the critiques, it looks like Jane, Nini, and Myki are going to be the top queens for this episode.
And they are the top three queens, with Nini ultimately taking the win. understandable, but I thought it was going to be Jane! In the bottom are Kenya and Mia, which is also understandable. I think it’s Kenya going home this time around because she’s been in the bottom before, and she’s been known to forget her words. And, well. I was wrong.
If any of you guys like what I do, feel free to leave me a tip!
